Yan Xinxin looked at the man with perplexity, his gaze heavy and serious.
Mo Chuxi’s thin lips parted slightly.
Just as he started speaking, Yan Xinxin’s phone conveniently rang.
Yan Xinxin picked up her phone and glanced at the contact name.
"President Mo, your question can wait. I’ll take this call first."
She spoke as she stood up.
Mo Chuxi remained seated, his gaze suddenly clouded with darkness.
Why would Xiao Yize call her at this hour?
Their master-disciple relationship is this clingy?
Yan Chenxi’s crisp voice broke through Mo Chuxi’s tense thoughts.
Turning his head, he saw the little rascal blinking his light brown, sparkling eyes at him.
Mo Chuxi froze for a brief moment, finally realizing why he had felt a sense of familiarity the first time he saw this kid.
Still, remembering what this kid had once said to him, he suddenly found himself hesitant to face him.
"Daddy Chuxi, who’s this Young Master Xiao? Is he more handsome than Daddy Chuxi? Will Xinxin fall for him and run away?"
The little fellow fired off several questions, asking them with utter seriousness.
His way of thinking could only be described as remarkably mature.
Mo Chuxi looked into Yan Chenxi’s bright eyes and reached out to ruffle his hair.
"Yan Chenxi, do you want a daddy? I mean, your own daddy."
"I want! Xixi wants Daddy!"
Little Chenxi’s eyes sparkled as she quickly answered Mo Chuxi’s question.
With a "thump," she jumped off her chair and ran to Mo Chuxi, hugging his leg tightly.

Tilting her tiny head upward, her tender, pale, and adorable face was filled with expectation as she gazed at Mo Chuxi.
Mo Chuxi felt his heartstrings tremble slightly as he reached out to lift little Chenxi onto his lap.
The little one snuggled close, wrapping her arms around his neck and planting a sloppy kiss on his cheek, her lips still smeared with rib sauce.
"Daddy is so handsome. Xixi likes Daddy a lot!"
Her sweet praise and candid declarations felt like a candy-coated bomb unexpectedly dropped into his heart.
Mo Chuxi’s emotions tumbled uncontrollably as he gazed at the delicate, adorable face before him. Though his handsome features remained composed, his eyes betrayed a subtle softness.

The night deepened, the indigo sky shimmering with silent, twinkling stars.

"The appraiser exam might be important, but you can’t accomplish everything in one go."
Yan Xinxin was visibly baffled.
This man was acting really strange today—giving her life lessons, of all things.
"It’s late. Sleep. If you don’t, the one inside your belly will need rest."
Mo Chuxi paused his motion of getting into bed, suddenly surprised to feel Yan Xinxin leaning towards him. Her soft, sweet fragrance brushed close, disorienting his thoughts.
Yan Xinxin tugged at the lapel of his robe, her beautiful eyes blinking lightly.
"At dinner, didn’t you want to ask me something? You can ask now."
