"Are all these jewelry design sketches? Did you draw them?"
Yan Xinxin was still lost in thought when Mu Qianshui’s voice suddenly interrupted.
She picked up the stack of sketches placed on the coffee table by Yan Xinxin and lowered her gaze to study them carefully.
"Lady Yan, you have a real talent for this."
Yan Xinxin snapped out of her trance to respond politely, but an undeniable discomfort weighed on her chest, inexplicably oppressive.
"I have a friend who’s a big name in jewelry design. He’s currently looking for apprentices. Would you like me to introduce you to him?"
Yan Xinxin was somewhat surprised upon hearing Mu Qianshui’s words.
"You wouldn’t happen to mean the mysterious chief designer of Di Jue Group, would you?"
"It seems Ted really is quite famous. So, are you interested in being his apprentice? I’m good friends with him, and introducing you is no problem at all."
A superstar knowing such a renowned chief designer wasn’t surprising.
Yan Xinxin pondered for a moment before smiling and politely declining.
"Thank you for your offer, Lady Mu, but I’d rather try on my own. I want to see if I can make it by myself."
Mu Qianshui mulled over her response for a moment, seemingly thoughtful.
"You’re right. It’s better that you pursue this on your own."
The sound of a fingerprint scanner unlocking the door echoed through the entryway, causing Yan Xinxin’s heart to skip a beat. She instinctively felt it was Mo Chuxi returning.
Sure enough, Mo Chuxi’s cold, restrained face came into view.
He lifted his gaze and spotted Yan Xinxin sitting in the living room, alongside the smiling Mu Qianshui.
"What are you doing here?"
Mo Chuxi stepped inside, his tone chilly as he asked.
Mu Qianshui stood, as always flashing a gentle smile toward Mo Chuxi.
"Chenxi, you haven’t forgotten her, have you? She misses you a lot, so Aunt Lin asked me to bring her to see you."
Mo Chuxi seemed momentarily stunned, though no one could detect this subtle reaction.
"Is that so? Then you can leave now."
He dismissed her bluntly, elegantly removing his suit jacket and handing it over to Yan Xinxin, his gesture so natural it felt like they were an old married couple.
Yan Xinxin was briefly caught off guard by his sudden action but quickly understood, reaching out to take his jacket and holding it in her arms.
His demeanor toward Yan Xinxin was unmistakably special, overly evident in every gesture.
Mu Qianshui’s lips curled upward as she continued to smile, though the stiff curve betrayed her tension.
"Why hasn’t dinner been prepared yet?"
Mo Chuxi asked, his gaze soft as it landed on Yan Xinxin.
"I’ll go prepare it right away."
Yan Xinxin replied in sync, turning toward Mu Qianshui.
"My apologies, Lady Mu."
"It’s alright, go ahead."
Mu Qianshui maintained her graceful smile, remaining composed and elegant to outside observers.
"Why are you still here?"
Mo Chuxi urged impatiently, his tone cold and harsh.
"I’ll leave shortly."
Mu Qianshui smiled gently, her gaze deeply fixed on Mo Chuxi.
"Chuxi, that boy named Xi—is he truly your and Yan Xinxin’s son? Have you already had a relationship with her five years ago?"
"Mind your own business."
"I’m just concerned about you."
Mu Qianshui frowned slightly, looking somewhat dejected.
Yan Xinxin placed Mo Chuxi’s jacket into the room. When she came back out, she saw Mu Qianshui wearing an expression of heartbreak while looking at Mo Chuxi’s cold face.
What were they talking about? Why did she look so upset?
"Chuxi, I’m genuinely happy that you’ve found someone you love. If my sister knew, she would be happy for you too. But this situation isn’t entirely fair to Yan Xinxin."
