Hunter Warren took the glass and drained it in one go: "I knew you two would do this."
"And you have the nerve to say that, weren’t you the one who asked us to come out? Yet you’re the one who’s late."
Owen Lennon finished speaking and spread his hands: "We are also very busy, you know?"
Hunter Warren walked over, sat down beside him, and poured himself another glass of wine: "Alright, then I’ll penalize myself with another drink.
I know you’re a busy man, but you had to come out today because I have something to ask of you."
Having heard him, Owen Lennon smirked mischievously and turned to look at Roman Hughes: "See, I won. Pay up."
Roman Hughes, with a displeased twist of the mouth, looked at Hunter Warren: "Out of all the days you could have something to do, why did you have to pick today?"
Hunter Warren curved his lips into a smile: "How much did you bet?"
"Not much, just a hundred thousand."
Hunter Warren nodded: "Perfect, give it to him. Consider it my lawyer’s fee."
Owen Lennon glanced at him sideways: "I don’t come that cheap."
"Be content that I’m not asking you to work for nothing." Hunter Warren’s lips held a subtle smile.
Owen Lennon leaned back with his arms crossed: "Did you come to me for help with Faye Townsend’s divorce lawsuit?"
"You know about it too?"
"I’m in and out of the courthouse every day; it’d be strange if I didn’t know. What are you thinking? To divorce or not to divorce?"
"Of course not to divorce. If you suppress this matter for me, I only have one demand, no divorce."
Owen Lennon turned to look at Roman Hughes and then back at Hunter Warren: "Have you really changed your mind? Roman said that little girl doesn’t like you currently."
"Dislike is true, but no matter how much she dislikes me, I’m still her legal husband."
"Are you holding a grudge, or have you truly come to terms with it?" Owen Lennon asked with a crooked smile, sipping his drink.
"I’ve come to terms with it." Hunter Warren poured himself another glass and leaned back: "There are not many women in this world who understand me like Faye Townsend does.
No matter what happened in the past, she has been with me for many years in my previous life, giving me happiness.
If I’m going to live my life either way, why not spend it with Faye Townsend?"
Owen Lennon sipped his champagne gracefully and nodded: "Alright, for your sake of returning to the right path, I will help you to the end."
Hunter Warren’s lips curled: "Were you even considering not helping me?"
"Before, Henry Sullivan came to me asking to make sure you don’t get close to Faye Townsend and torment her, no matter what. Guess if I promised him."
"You promised." Hunter Warren raised his eyebrows: "Otherwise, Faye Townsend wouldn’t have been back for so long without Henry Sullivan making a move."
Owen Lennon shrugged: "Don’t blame Henry; it’s all for Faye Townsend’s well-being.
Although we’re brothers, I think some things need to be said straight.
No matter what, Faye Townsend has been by your side for so many years, and what you did to her six years ago really wasn’t gentlemanly."
Roman Hughes raised his glass: "Alright, now that Hunter has the intention of finding happiness again, let’s not dwell on the past. Cheers, Hunter, I wish that your journey to win back your wife isn’t too long."
Owen Lennon raised his glass and clinked it with Hunter Warren’s: "A toast to that."
Hunter Warren’s lips curled upwards: "Don’t worry, no matter how long the road is, I’m prepared to be persistent for a lifetime."
"That’s the spirit." Roman Hughes smiled: "Although I think your current efforts are a bit late, there’s an old saying in Eldoria, ’It’s never too late to mend.’"
I believe as long as you are sincere, a girl like Faye Townsend will eventually fall for you again."
Hunter Warren clinked glasses with him: "I’ll take your auspicious words."
After talking about the important matters, Hunter Warren seemed to remember something and looked at Roman Hughes: "Roman, there’s something else I want to ask you, can it be possible... for a child’s habits to not resemble their father, but their uncle instead?"
"Tonight, I found out incidentally that Faye Townsend’s son doesn’t like eating grapes.
You should all know, I never eat grapes, but Lucas Warren is different; he likes them very much."
Roman Hughes’s brows lifted slightly: "There’s such a thing?"
Hunter Warren nodded silently; he always felt that something was amiss.
