Kay Forrest sneered inwardly, but on the surface, he was amiable: "Do you mean you want to be my assistant?
Geesh, that’s a tough one. It would have been the perfect timing had you come to me with this request when I first arrived.
But now I already have an assistant, and Assistant Jane does a fine job.
If you really must come over, then you’d only be able to assist Assistant Jane. Would you be willing to do that?"
Hearing Kay say this, Eden Howard’s face took on an awkward hue: "I was thinking... I’d like to learn directly from you."
"I’m quite accustomed to using Assistant Jane, so there’s no vacancy for that position at the moment.
Besides, having you as my assistant would only be treating the symptoms rather than the cause; you’d still be in the same office with Xavier."
"I’ve also considered asking you to transfer Xavier away, but now I’ve realized that Xavier’s love for Jane is genuine.
We all once shared a love, and I don’t want to be too harsh; I’d like to pave the way for them."
Hearing her say this, Kay Forrest felt somewhat annoyed.
Who does she think she is to pave the way for his subordinate? She can forget about it.
Kay Forrest nodded: "Hmm, I had no idea you were such a considerate person.
How about this, I’ll arrange a transfer for you to a different work environment. How about going to Skyward Group?"
When Eden heard his words, she was thrilled: "Could I? Can I... go to Skyward too?"
"Of course. If I managed to get a nobody like Jane Quinlan in there, I can surely arrange for you to go."

Eden clenched her fists, feeling that making more demands would be too greedy.
She raised her eyebrows and nodded.
"If there’s nothing else, then you should get back to your work."
"Okay, Director Forrest."
After Eden Howard left, Kay Forrest leisurely crossed his feet on the desk and twirled a pen in hand, a fine plan forming in his mind.
He dialed the intercom, asking Jane Quinlan to summon Xavier to his office.
Upon receiving the message, Jane Quinlan was somewhat worried; after hanging up, she entered Kay Forrest’s office.
"What do you need Xavier for?"
Jane Quinlan pouted: "Hey, don’t mess things up, okay? My relationship with him is already awkward enough, don’t you go stirring things more."
"Who told you I want to meddle? I couldn’t care less about your petty personal matters."
Jane Quinlan pursed her lips, feeling that she might be too sensitive.
"What are you spacing out for? Hurry up and go call him for me."
Turning around, she walked to a spot far enough from Xavier and said, "Senior Xavier, Director Forrest wants to see you in his office."
Xavier looked up at her before standing up and heading towards Kay Forrest’s office.
"Director Forrest, you wanted to see me."
"Please have a seat."
After Xavier sat down, Kay Forrest asked: "Have you been considering changing jobs recently?"
Xavier frowned: "I don’t understand what Director Forrest means."
"Oh, it’s nothing. I just asked casually. It’s for your own good.
Eden Howard came to me just now, hoping I’d help you transfer to a different position.
She thinks it’s somewhat awkward for the two of you to work in the same office now.
Xavier’s eyes darkened: "Is that what Eden said?"
Kay Forrest nodded: "She just left. I think since both of you are my employees, I should be fair.
She wanted to be my assistant and also wants to work at the Skyward Group headquarters; implying that it would be best if you left the company.
I’ve just spoken with Jane Quinlan; she mentioned that you’ve always been professional and attentive at work.
For an employee like that, I would like to maintain a trusting attitude.
The reason I asked if you were considering a job change was to see if you have any desires in that regard. I do have some clout here in Anchester, so I could consider writing you a recommendation letter."
"Director Forrest, I really like my current job, and I have no thoughts of resigning. Please consider carefully."
"Is that so? Your personal issues have already seriously affected your work.
It’s giving me quite the headache. Never mind, go on, I’ll think it over some more."
After Xavier left, Kay Forrest curved his lips into a smile, feeling like he had instantly become a double agent.
