Late at night, Xavier couldn’t sleep and took out his phone to browse WeChat Moments.
Feeling rather disheartened lately, it had been days since he last checked WeChat or Weibo.
Considering he might be facing termination soon, he needed to quickly tap into his network to seek new opportunities.
He scrolled through the messages on his phone one by one.
When he saw the Moment that Benjamin Quinlan posted yesterday with a picture, he suddenly sat up.
The content of the Moment was quite mundane: ’Met the future brother-in-law for the first time today, check out this tall and dashing silhouette, isn’t it cool.’
And the photo showed Jane alongside a man, walking shoulder to shoulder, laughing and talking.
The man in the picture was clearly Director Forrest.
What’s going on here?
He rubbed his eyes. Yes, that’s definitely Director Forrest; he couldn’t possibly be mistaken.
He quickly found Benjamin’s number and called it.
Benjamin had just finished dining with his new colleagues and returned to his hotel, planning to look for housing online, when he received Xavier’s call instead.
"Ben, I have a question for you. Is Jane’s boyfriend surnamed Forrest?"
"How did you find out?" Benjamin was taken aback, what did he know?
"I just saw the photo in your Moments, I didn’t see it wrong, did I? Jane’s boyfriend is the new editor of our newspaper, right?"
Benjamin fell silent for a moment, unsure of what to say.
"Hmm, so that’s how it is." Xavier sneered coldly, no wonder he always felt that Director Forrest seemed to target him.
It seemed his feeling was right, Director Forrest indeed had something against him.

"Xavier, Jane hasn’t told anyone else about this, and you better not spread it around.
Since it was you who wanted to break up in the first place, stop meddling with Jane’s romantic life now."
Xavier sneered coldly: "What, enjoyed the sweet fruits and now want to secure this diamond bachelor for your sister?"
"Xavier, what nonsense are you spouting? I’m warning you, don’t mess around."
"I’m about to be fired, Ben, guess how I’m feeling right now.
I really wish I could drag the whole world down with me."
Benjamin clenched his fist: "If you dare to touch my sister, we can no longer be friends in the future.
Just think carefully about what you’re doing."
Xavier hung up the phone outright and reopened WeChat, staring coldly at that photo again.
Benjamin also hurriedly found that Moment and deleted it.
He hesitated for a moment before quickly calling Jane.
Jane, who was in a bad mood, had just lain down when she received the call from Benjamin.
Benjamin sounded anxious: "Jane, I’ve done you wrong, you might need to watch out for Xavier."

"At dinner yesterday, I took a back view photo of you and your future brother-in-law and posted it in my Moments.

Even though it was just a back view, Xavier still managed to recognize the brother-in-law tonight."
Jane sighed deeply without saying anything.
This sigh was loud, and Benjamin heard it clearly.
"Should I explain it to the brother-in-law myself?"
Jane turned restlessly in bed, her cousin really knew how to cause trouble for her.
"No need, let him be, I haven’t done anything wrong anyway."
"Are you sure you’re okay?"
"Yeah," Jane had made up her mind, the worst-case scenario was Xavier spouting nonsense.
She believed that Kay Forrest was no pushover and would come forward to deal with any connection to her for his own future.
Since someone else could handle it, she didn’t need to pretend to be someone she wasn’t; she preferred to keep being her slim self.
She didn’t even tell Kay about the matter because she trusted that Kay had the ability to handle it well.
The next day at the office, the resignation of Strong Howard and Eden Howard became the talk among everyone.
All morning, Xavier kept casting occasional glances at her.
He had always thought of Jane as pure and innocent; didn’t she turn out to be just like everyone else?
She even managed to hook up with Director Forrest, quite a feat indeed.
A phone call from Kay Forrest summoned Jane into the office.
Watching her back, Xavier snorted softly and started to scheme.
As soon as Jane entered the office, she curiously asked, "Did Manager Howard and Eden really resign?"
"Would there be any faking such a matter? Haven’t they left yet?"
