Jane Quinlan silently looked at Kay Forrest. So, was it true that she had once been deceived because of her poor judgment of character?
"Is it not possible that someone might have suffered a setback?"
"Did you suffer a setback after Xavier broke up with you?"
Jane nodded; of course, she did, and it hit her hard.
"Then why didn’t you turn into a demon?
People’s true natures are all different, as are their abilities to cope with stress.
Some people are just born with a devil in their hearts."
Born that way? Is Xavier one of those people?
"What’s wrong, did Xavier hurt your feelings again?"
Jane was surprised: "How did you know I was upset because of Xavier?"
"You’re a woman with no experience in love who got dumped.
Who else would you be foolishly upset over besides your first love?"
Jane made a face: "Can you stop talking to me with the attitude of a love expert?"
Kay Forrest gave her a sideways glance: "Actually, I’m quite curious. What are your feelings towards Xavier now? Do you still love him?"
"Of course not," Jane waved her hand dismissively. If she still loved someone like Xavier who dumped her, wouldn’t it make her a loser in love?
"Then why are you upset over his matters?"
"I’m not upset, I just feel... he has become a person I don’t recognize.
I can still clearly remember what the Xavier I used to like was like.
But in just a few months, everything seems to have changed beyond recognition."
"Love is just like that.
When you love someone, everything about them is good.
When you don’t, even the good can turn bad.
The same goes for what he means to you and what you mean to him.
You are both bad in each other’s eyes now.

Jane nodded; she had to admit that in terms of relationships, Kay Forrest was indeed very impressive.
This is what they call ’a single sentence that wakes the dreamer.’
What he said was actually very true; perspectives of the same person differ when you love them versus when you don’t.
She had thought that even if Xavier was to do something to her, given that he had just found out the secret, he would need to prepare.
But to her surprise, just the next day, history repeated itself.
Her photos were posted again, but this time the main characters included Xavier and also Kay Forrest.
Early in the morning, when she arrived at work, the disdain in everyone’s eyes when they saw her really choked her heart.
Upon seeing her, everyone dispersed, acting as if nothing happened and returned to their offices.
Only Daisy Zenith jumped in front of her and dragged her in front of the photos: "Jane, I’m a bit confused. Tell me what’s going on.
Are these photos real, or Photoshopped?"
Because they were closer, the photos here were even clearer.
In addition to the image of her and Xavier chatting downstairs the day before yesterday, there were also photos of her with Kay Forrest.
Shots of the two of them sharing a car, dining together, and entering the building where his home was, were all captured.
She really hadn’t expected that privately she had never been photographed with Kay Forrest, and yet here... they had so many photos together, and each one was so clear.
Being in the know, she naturally understood that nothing had happened between her and Kay Forrest.
But to the uninformed, seeing these photos, they would naturally imagine her and Kay Forrest already living together.
Ha, this Xavier is really something...
"Jane, why are you spacing out? Why aren’t you speaking? Have you been slandered by someone?"
Kay Forrest walked in from outside, silently went up beside Jane, and looked up at the photos on the wall.
Seeing Kay, Daisy quickly nudged Jane’s arm.
Jane came to her senses and turned to look at him.
He casually placed his hand on her shoulder and smiled at Daisy: "She hasn’t been slandered; we are indeed dating."
