Billionaire's Unforgettable Ex-Wife Chapter 613

Seeing that Kay Forrest was not treating her well, Evie Larkin put down her chopsticks, stood up, and looked towards Grayson Forrest.

"Old Mr. Forrest, I’ve finished eating. You all take your time.

I just remembered I have some things to do, so I’m going upstairs."

Grayson nodded: "Go ahead."

After she left, Grayson glanced at Kay but didn’t say anything.

Jane Quinlan was quite puzzled.

It looked like Evie really suffered a lot in this family.

Of course, all these grievances were given to her by Forrest.

Forrest obviously disliked her; she had been driven away by him several times in one day.

But every time, she managed to calm down and come back.

What on earth was she aiming for?

Any clear-eyed person could see that Kay didn’t like her. Why did she tirelessly keep trying?

Was it to show Kay her obedience or her pitifulness?

If Kay really wanted to pity her, how could he possibly hurt her time and again?

She’s a woman too, but she really couldn’t understand what Evie was thinking.

Loving someone is never about exchanging it with humiliation. Doesn’t she understand that?

After dinner, everyone went back to their own rooms.

Once in her room, Jane lazily lay on the bed and called her family.

She arranged with her parents that after the 15th day of the first lunar month, they would come to Anchester for a meeting between both families’ parents.

Over the phone, Jane’s dad was extremely worried, instructing her over ten times to take good care of her health.

Even if she didn’t feel like eating, she had to force herself.

By the end, Jane felt her eyes start to redden.

Being pregnant, she had developed the consciousness of soon becoming a mother.

Whenever she thought of the word "mother," she would think of her own parents.

Now that her dad was so caring, she felt truly happy from the bottom of her heart.

Actually, her dad is a man who is not very good at expressing his emotions.

Watching the father and daughter becoming more sorrowful in their conversation during the New Year, Kay simply took the phone and briefly spoke to Jane’s dad before hanging up.

He got into bed and held her: "Hey, it’s frustrating to have a delicacy right by your mouth but not being able to savor it."

Jane rolled over and smirked at him: "People say it’s the time when men are most likely to cheat when their woman is pregnant."

"Do you think your master is an ordinary man?

Cut it out, truly not cherishing gold and silver as if they are mere paper.

I’ll have you know, your master used to be quite the charmer when he was young.

Cheating is something I’ve gotten tired of, been there done that.

Now I’m solely into innocence, changed my style, didn’t you notice?"

Jane playfully poked his forehead: "Narcissist."

Kay chuckled, and kissed her cheek.

There was a knock at the door, Kay lying there lazily asked: "Who is it?"

"Kay, it’s me," came Evie’s voice from outside.

Jane pouted, thinking earlier downstairs that it wouldn’t take until tomorrow for Evie Larkin to attempt to reconcile with Kay.

Every time she got mad and no one placated her, she would come back on her own. Is that interesting?

Kay glanced at Jane, his hand squeezing hers: "What is it?"

"Don’t you have a habit of drinking milk before bed?

I brought you a cup of milk, can I come in now?"

"I’ve already dropped that habit, you drink it yourself."

There was silence at the door, and just when they thought she had left, they heard Evie softly say: "I know you don’t want to see me, so I will leave the milk at the door."

Jane laughed softly, covering her mouth with her hand, and Kay gave her a look.

"What are you laughing at?"

"I find you two weird."

"What’s so weird about it," he turned over and lay down, not bothering to fetch that cup of milk.

Jane got up, opened the door, the corridor was empty, she took the cup of milk inside and handed it to him: "Here, drink it."

"No, just put it aside, I really dislike such ostentatious women."

"How did she show off?"

"Guess why she came to bring me milk?"

Jane hummed twice and asked: "You want the truth?"

"Is it that I want you to fob me off?"

Jane sat cradling herself: "I think she’s actually just trying to show me how well she knows you."

"Yo, little girl, not bad, you’ve moved up a level."

"It’s not that I’ve climbed the ranks, it’s that I’m starting to understand her a bit more.

But you said so yourself, why do you always have to confront her in public, making her seem like a victim? Is that fun?"

"Even if I say nothing, she’ll still play the victim.

She just wants my dad to see how pitiful she is.

But today, I realized something important."

Kay Forrest tapped her between the eyebrows: "I think my dad is starting to like you more."

Jane Quinlan patted her stomach: "Does he like me as his daughter-in-law, or does he heir of the Forrest family?"

"Don’t underestimate my old man, he’s really approachable and has a soft heart, otherwise he wouldn’t have taken care of Evie Larkin and Nolan Moore for so many years."

Jane Quinlan nodded: "Since you know your dad is a good person, why do you always have to oppose him?

He wants both of us to move back in with him, why are you so adamantly against it?"

"Silly girl, it’s all for your sake.

Where I live doesn’t matter to me, it’s merely about having meals with my dad, and the rest of the time everyone’s in their own rooms.

But it’s different for you, you’re the daughter-in-law.

I hear young people nowadays don’t like living with their in-laws.

And I remember, the first time I went to your house, your aunt asked if I had a house.

The purpose was to avoid living with my parents, right?

My dad is a nice guy, but I worry he might meddle in our affairs using his seniority.

Once or twice is okay, but if it’s too much wouldn’t you get annoyed?"

Jane Quinlan nodded: "So, am I misjudging you?"

Kay Forrest clutched his chest: "Oh my goodness, my wife doesn’t understand my heart, I’m totally heartbroken."

Jane Quinlan smacked his chest lightly: "Seeing you in such agony, let me put you out of your misery by stabbing you again."

"Damn it, evil wife who murders her own husband, watch how I’ll deal with you," he said, rolling over to pin her down.

Jane Quinlan pushed him: "Hey, that’s not okay."

"I thought about stopping, but I can’t help it.

Think about it, when we were at your place, didn’t we still go at it multiple times a night without any issues?

Just one round tonight, I’ll be gentle."

"It won’t happen, if you feel uncomfortable just tell me, and we will stop immediately, okay?"

Jane Quinlan thought for a moment: "Hold on, let me check online first."

She picked up her phone and searched on Baidu; some said it was okay, others said it wasn’t.

Seeing her dawdling, Kay Forrest couldn’t wait any longer and proceeded.

He really wasn’t impulsive, very gentle indeed.

But since they were already familiar with each other’s bodies, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The morning of the third day after breakfast, Evie Larkin left the Forrest family.

She said she originally came to accompany old Mr. Forrest for the New Year because she was afraid he might be lonely.

Since there are now many people at home, she decided to leave early.

In her absence, Jane Quinlan felt a lot more relaxed.

It’s not that she disliked her that much, but her constant melancholic demeanor like Lin Daiyu really made her somewhat displeased.

Kay Forrest was also to blame, always provoking her which then caused her to stand up ’heartbroken’ and leave; if Kay didn’t bother with her, she’d just come back on her own.

Every scene was the same, just like copy and paste, totally uninspired.

On the fifth day, Nolan Moore also left, citing the need to arrange work at his company.

Kay Forrest and Jane Quinlan stayed until the evening of the seventh day before leaving.

Back in their own little nest, Jane Quinlan felt much more comfortable.

But after sleeping for one night, she had to start work the next day.

The dinner was made by Kay Forrest, and Jane Quinlan was chased out of the kitchen twice by him.

Jane Quinlan felt like she was living the life of a national treasure.

During dinner, Kay Forrest declared seriously: "I’ve made a decision."

"What decision? Let me hear it," seeing him so solemn, Jane Quinlan also looked at him seriously with a smile.

"After going to the office tomorrow, I want to have you transferred to work by my side."

"Yes, I want you to transfer over to be my assistant.

You were my assistant at the newspaper anyway.

Bringing you over to continue serving me is only natural."

Thinking of Wendy, Jane Quinlan felt a bit uneasy.
