After Drake’s battle with Patri, although his injuries were healed, he’d consumed a lot of magic power. Even elves, favored by magic, didn’t have unlimited magic power.
Patri’s magic power had been sealed to counter the Wizard King and activate the reincarnation magic. He’d lost his composure; he gasped for breath after dodging the energy black hole.
His opponent was now Yami, who was undeniably powerful. Yami could be classified as a magic swordsman—using enhancement magic to boost physical abilities and fighting with enchanted swordsmanship.

Dark magic enveloped his katana; Yami, wielding the pitch-black blade, severed incoming light swords. He charged towards Patri.
Asta protected the immobile Drake from the light swords. Seeing Asta deflect the swords, Drake realized he’d learned to read ki. Asta had used this to defeat Valtos.
Since realizing his weakness, Drake had been eager to learn different powers. World Magic, allowing him to traverse worlds, existed for this purpose. Learning to read ki would enhance his abilities; Yami’s battle was a perfect lesson.
Yami, a fisherman by origin, only knew basic swordsmanship. But these basics, combined with his strength and dark magic, created a heavy, fast offensive.
Patri dodged Yami’s blade, constantly firing light swords. They moved through the ruins.
Yami, called the God of Destruction, wielded his blade with the force of a battering ram.
Yami’s downward strike shattered the ground.
Large movements create openings; Patri saw his chance, attacking with light swords.
"Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Avidya Blunt Strike!"
A black crescent-shaped slash destroyed the light swords and aimed for Patri’s chest.
Patri was caught off guard by Yami’s speed and reaction time. He transformed into light particles, reappearing far away. A cut was visible on his cloak.
Yami rested his sword on his shoulder. "He got away! Warm-up’s over; let’s go all out!"
"Warm-up? You’re a significant obstacle," Patri said, opening his Grimoire.
"Light Creation Magic: Bright Judgment Whip!"
The whip spread, nearly enveloping Patri.
Yami raised his sword. "Before we start, I have a question!"
Yami’s usual deadpan expression turned sharp.
"I’ve found your face familiar! My junior said you showed a familiar face. Mind letting me see it?"
Patri, holding the whip, remained emotionless. "That? A strategy to defeat Fuegoleon quickly. Defeating a Captain isn’t easy."
"Is that so?" Yami said, the ground shattering beneath him as he leaped.
Yami’s blade clashed with Patri’s whip. The ground collapsed, obscuring Asta and Drake’s view.
Light shone; the dust cleared, revealing the battle. The whip lashed at Yami, but his dark-magic-infused blade deflected it.
Four black slashes created an opening. Yami tried to approach, but his blade was caught by the whip.
Patri flung Yami to the ground. Yami, removing the whip with dark magic, launched a massive magic slash at Patri.
Patri transformed into light particles, reappearing and firing light swords.
Yami stood, dark magic surging.
"Dark Magic: Black Hole!"
The light swords were drawn into the black hole.
Yami didn’t pursue Patri but slashed at him as he reappeared.
A light beam shattered Yami’s magic; Patri approached. The light swords, at close range, were faster than Yami’s reactions, cutting his arms and legs.
Yami destroyed the remaining swords. The whip and black slashes tore up the ground.
Yami, using the flying debris, approached Patri, swinging his sword.
Patri vanished, reappearing behind Yami, his whip striking. Yami, unable to brace himself, smiled.
"Dark Magic: Black Hole - Dark Binding!"
The whip was swallowed by the black hole; Yami’s black blade struck.
"Damn it! My magic... is gone!"
Patri, exhausted from two intense battles, couldn’t dodge.
The black blade struck Patri, shattering the ground. Yami sheathed his sword. "Got him!"
As he approached Patri, Yami’s expression turned wary; his hand went to his sword.
"That magic... more guests."
Spatial magic opened, revealing three figures. Patri, on the ground, sensed their magic power and smiled.
