The onlookers were shocked; they didn’t understand what happened.
Touka Toudou looked at Ikki Kurogane; Ikki Kurogane smiled. "Drake mastered that move quickly!"
Touka Toudou recognized it—Ikki Kurogane’s technique to sever her Device.
The principle was the same—manipulating ki to release magic instantly, causing massive damage. Drake had taught Ikki Kurogane about ki; mastering this wasn’t difficult for him.
Frost spread from the ground, freezing Drake’s feet.
〈The Icy Laughter〉 Tsuruya Mio—the only person Drake had met from Akatsuki Academy.
She was a Kyomon Academy contestant in the Seven Star Sword Festival; they’d met during training. Her ability was cold air manipulation; she could freeze opponents at -273°C (absolute zero).
Ice and fire countered each other; it depended on magic power. Tsuruya Mio didn’t plan to use absolute zero to defeat Drake; she was creating an opportunity for someone else.
Tatara Yui’s Sweeping Centipede Device, roared as she swung it at Drake’s neck.
Tatara Yui’s attack power was A-rank, relying on her Device. Unlike ordinary swords, Ground Sweeping Centipede could tear through steel with a light swing.
Flames erupted; the frost vanished. Drake raised his arm, meeting the chainsaw.
Sparks flew; Ground Crawling Centipede was deflected. Their strength difference was too great.

While they bickered, Drake landed; the Sphinx charged.
Drake looked up, his eyes turning vertical.
The Sphinx stopped, almost throwing Kazamatsuri Rinna and Charlotte off.
As a beast, the Sphinx sensed danger better than humans. It sensed a more terrifying predator; continuing would mean death.
It disobeyed its master, fleeing at high speed!
"Sphinx, what are you doing! Stop!"
Kazamatsuri Rinna’s voice faded.
Drake stood, looking at the remaining members.
"I’ve gathered enough information; let’s finish this!"
Regarding the motion sickness of Dragon Slayers:
Many comment on this; the original setting is confusing.
It’s said that dragon power damages the semicircular canals, preventing balance, but it’s more subjective.
They don’t get motion sickness if they don’t think it’s a vehicle, like Natsu and Happy.
The protagonist can fly, so he won’t be easily countered.
