Darkness banketed the world with no stars to light the way. Everything was black, so black that if it wasn’t for the feeling of the ground, one wouldn’t know which way was up or down.
There were no clouds in the dark sky, or at least none that could be seen, yet rain still poured down as if the heavens were crying.
The rain was red, showering the land in what looked like blood. No. It didn’t just look like blood, it was blood—the blood of hundreds of thousands of monstrous wolfbats that Zion slaughtered mercilessly.
The rain continued to pour, covering his body in a veil of blood that made him look like a creature of the land—a monster.
"Your children are dead." Zion picked up his sword, which was lodged inside a wolfbat. "And now, you’re next."
The Queen Wolfbat didn’t take kindly to his words, screeching at such a high decibel that anyone would go deaf. She mourned her children’s deaths and swore to get revenge.
Unfortunately for her, she was facing Zion Zagan.
The towering creature charged toward him, each step causing minor earthquakes. The ground crumbled beneath its weight and lunged at Zion to rip him to shreds.
"This isn’t even fun anymore." Zion casually swatted its claw away with no effort whatsoever. The force was so great that its arm was completely blown off.
"GROAAARRRRRRR!" It let out a guttural bellow as blood poured from the gaping wound—but before it could react, its head exploded in a violent burst, a small stone having pierced through it at blinding speed.
[You’re too strong for this area now, it’s time to move on.]
It had been two years since Zion was stranded in the fracture, and in those two years, he did the same thing over and over again: hunt, cultivate, eat, sleep, and repeat.
Currently, his power was at the peak of the ascendant stage and could now kill the monsters in the area with ease.
"You said the wolfbat was the strongest monster in this area, right?"
"Hmm. Then maybe the transcendent Zone won’t be so tough."
[Don’t get cocky. It took you two years to get to this point, and the weakest monsters there are stronger than the strongest monsters here.]
"Two years because of this fuck ass negative mana, not because I’m weak or anything."
[The monsters beg to differ]
"Who’s dead and who’s alive?"
[You went back to the cave every night, whining about being sore and in pain while missing a limb or two.]
"Yet here I am. Standing and alive. And those monsters," Zion turned around, and what greeted him was a horde of monster corpses with numbers that easily reached the millions. "All dead."
[Whatever. Just get a move on. You should reach the next area by nightfall.]
"Haha. Nice joke. That was a joke, right? ’Cause it’s always night here."
[Yes, it was a joke.]
"You’re evolving so fast."
There was good news and bad news when Zion arrived at the area where tier 10 monsters roamed.
The good news was that the weakest monsters in the area were those flaming lions he faced back then. The bad news was that the weakest monsters were the flaming lions he faced back then.
"You gotta be fucking kidding me! They act all strong and shit only to be the weakest of the bunch here? Fuck off. King of the jungle my ass. Lions don’t even live in jungles, they live in fucking savannas!"
"Oh my, I see you’ve gotten stronger since the last time we met."
Zion rolled his eyes at the familiar voice. "Oh great. Here comes the busty demon to make things worse for me. What? Am I progressing at too slow a rate? Are you gonna throw me into the volcano where the necro-dragon dwells? Or maybe you plan to leave me here forever."
Lilith clutched her chest, acting like she was in pain. "That hurts. I thought we were friends. Shouldn’t you be happy to see me?"
"More like business partners." Zion stared at her massive mommy milkers. "Buuut, if you allow me to, ahem, suck on dem thangs, then I’ll see you as more than just a friend."
"Oh, you mean these things?" She asked in a sultry tone, revealing her large breasts and perky nipples.
Zion instantly got hard, feeling all his blood rush to his little brother.
’I’m getting laid today, boys!’
On instinct, Zion reached out to grab the large bouncing boob, ready to reveil in its firm yet soft feeling. He could already imagine how it would feel.
Suddenly, a hole appeared in his hand.
Then one in his shoulder.
"Agh! What the fuck?!" He turned to Lilith and saw that her nipples had magic circles on them, and they started firing blasts of demonic energy.
"What the fuck is even that! Aghh! Why do you have guns in your tits?!"
"Hahaha, surprised? I’m a sex demon, Zion, and I wasn’t always this strong before. I developed this power so I can protect myself if any horny man tried to force themselves onto me."
"Gotta admit, that’s really smart. Weird, but smart. Wait, does that mean you can do this in your...other sacred areas?" He asked with a gulp.
She just smiled and winked, sending a shiver down his spine.
"Ooookaaaaay, so what are you here for anyway?" He asked as his body finished healing.
"I came to tell you that some demons are attacking your home. And by home, I mean your human kingdom."
"Impossible. I’ve driven out every demon in Astir, and it’s protected by a holy barrier. No demon would be able to enter."
"No, not that place, I mean the other places in, what’s your continent called again?"
"Yes! Yes, Midgard. Demons are attacking the kingdoms you haven’t taken over."
"Oh, I don’t care about that then. This will make things easier for me, actually. Tessa, tell everyone to launch a full-scale invasion to take over Midgard. By the time I come back, I want it to be completely mine."
