"Don’t think I’ll hold back just because you’re a goddess!" Zion didn’t pull his punches as he faced Luminera.
She was powerful, the most powerful opponent he had ever faced before, and she wasn’t even trying to kill him.
He used everything in his arsenal, but they were rendered useless against her. Using magic against her was like giving a fish more water to swim in. And he didn’t even try to use holy power, as that power belonged to her.
So, he had to use his fists, not that it was a problem.
The problem was that Luminera actually knew how to fight.
Zion, at this point, was a master martial artist. He knew the ins and outs of combat and could even overwhelm experienced fighters.
He lunged forward with a right hook, but that was blocked, and Luminera countered with a palm strike. Although he felt pain, he grabbed her arm and went in for a left hook.
Again, she blocked his attack, but this time, he was expecting it. He spun his body, kicking at her face, but she pushed him off.
Before landing on the ground, Zion used wind magic to propel himself forward as he kicked with his other leg, but again, he was blocked.
Now, he was vulnerable, and Luminera had an easy opening to attack him, but before she could, Luminera saw Zion’s mouth glow as he was charging a beam of mana in his throat that he was about to fire at her.
She quickly kicked his mouth shut, but that was just a ploy. The real threat was his laser vision that blasted Luminera with such force that it would have fried anyone to death. Anyone who wasn’t a goddess, that is.
She easily blocked his heat vision, grabbed him by the throat, and slammed him onto the ground.
"Okay, that’s enough." She said, picking Zion back up.
"You need to be checked into a mental hospital because why the fuck did you beat my ass for ten fucking hours?! I broke every fucking bone in my body!" Zion complained
Luminera laughed. "Needed to toughen you up."
"Bitch! You think I’ll fall for such an obvious lie?!"
It had been ten hours since Luminera punched Zion into her heavenly realm. During those hours, she brutally beat the shit out of him and forced him to continue fighting regardless of his injuries.
At this point, breaking every bone in his body was nothing to him as he could regenerate easily. However, the constant rate at which she kept breaking them was what made their fight unbearable for Zion.
"Oh, grow a pair, you’ll be fine." She shrugged him off.
"I know that. But at least give me a warning before-"
A massive golden beam ripped right through Zion’s body faster than the speed of light. His heart and entire midsection were completely vaporized, and Zion fell to the ground.
A few seconds later, he completely regenerated, and it was as if he were never ’killed’ in the first place. The only permanent damage was to his clothes, which were destroyed.
"Can you stop that?!"
She looked at Zion’s body. "Amazing. You’re practically immortal."
"You already know this."
"I know, but it’s still cool seeing it in action."
"Well, try not to make it a habit. It’s annoying to have all my nanobots repair themselves and repopulate my body."
"Well, you passed this part of the test. You have two hours before the next one." Luminera snapped her fingers, and a chair appeared.
"Test? What test? What are you talking about?"
She smirked. "You wanted to become a demigod, right? Well, I was testing you to see if you had it in you."
"That’s a lot of ’you’s’" he chuckled. "Anyway, how did I pass? Is taking a beating the trial to become a demigod? If so, I can become one like a million times over."
"Well, it’s only part of-Oh my, I thought she would be coming here a lot later. Sorry, love, it’s time for you to go."
Zion was confused. "What do you mean? Can you be more specific? Stop being one of those annoying, vague gods! They’re stupid!"
"Aww, that’s not nice."
Zion turned around to see Erebosa casually walking up to him.
"What the...how are you here? This is the heavenly realm." He asked
"Sweetie, my sister and I share relams. Her realm is a part of my realm and vice versa. We can travel between them any time we want."
Zion accepted this. "So, what brings you here? Are you going to beat me up, too?" He walked back slightly, afraid of her answer.
"Oh, no. Don’t worry about that." She touched his back even though she was in front of him.
When Zion turned around, he noticed that she was in both places at once. Before he could even get away, she grabbed him by the throat and shifted the entire state of the realm, changing it into her delish realm.
"I’m going to break you so bad that you’ll be begging your mommy to save you."
’Fuck! Why did she have to whisper that into my ear in such a sultry tone?! Now I’m turned on!’
"Can we at least talk about this first?" He asked
She smiled, and with that beautiful, loving smile, she completely shattered Zion’s ribcage with a devastating punch.
Luminera smiled, looking at her sister absolutely beating the shit out of Zion. She watched as he tried to fight back, reason with her, and even say he was activating his secret technique, which was just running off to his fracture.
She simply dug her hand through space and pulled him back into her realm.
’Sorry, my dear Zion. But if you wish to become a higher-level being, you have to shed the skin that binds you to its plane of existence. Each punch you withstand is pumping you with our energies, forcing your body to absorb it and accept it. Only when put in stressful situations does evolution happen. I hope you will forgive me.’
Then, she thought about Zion’s personality.
’Oh, who am I kidding? He’ll absolutely forgive me. I’m me after all.’
