Blade of the Goddess Chapter 9

The school uniform was a silky white button-down shirt with silky white pants and a black belt. Two red lines stretched across the chest area vertically, and a platinum badge was sewn onto his shirt, symbolizing that he came from a Duke family.

Marquise children have diamond badges, Count children have gold badges, Viscounts children have silver badges, Baron children have bronze badges, and commoner children have no badges.

Once he got ready, he packed everything he needed into his storage ring, and left the house, entering the carriage where his beautiful fiancé sat waiting for him. Ginger, his personal knight, was the coachman alongside Lidia's personal attendant, Beatrix.

Beatrix was a fierce, beautiful woman. One glance at her would have you drooling on the floor. Just looking into her black eyes would suck you into another world. Her curly black hair made her serious expression lighten up a bit, showing that she had style.

As usual, she was wearing the armor of the Brightburn knights, the knights of Lidia's family. It was red with a yellow sun emblem on the breastplate.

"Hey, Lidia." He greeted her with a deep, loving kiss.

"You know, I was going to reprimand you for being late, but I changed my mind." Snuggling into his arms, she felt the most comfortable with her head on his chest.

"Haha, thanks. What's up Bea, long time no see. I was hoping to see you yesterday with Lidia."

"It's nice to see you as well, young master Zion. I had urgent matters to attend to yesterday so I apologize for not being able to meet with you." Under all that seriousness was a nice, warm, smile that she directed at Zion.

"It's all good. Just call me Zion; we're friends, after all." He smiled and then hopped in the carriage with Lidia.

Zion closed his eyes, enjoying the fresh air that nature provided. The feeling of touching grass, seeing trees, and just being in nature really soothed his mind. Relaxation washed over his entire body, and with Lidia snuggled on him, he felt the urge to take a nap.

"Young Master, we have trouble." Awakening to Ginger's voice, Zion peered out the window, noticing a bunch of figures standing in a line holding sticks. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, his vision cleared and he saw a bunch of men wielding weapons, obviously bandits.

"Sigh, do people not have better things to do?" Zion asked, stretching his body and stepping out of the carriage.

"I can handle it if you want." Beatrix offered

"Nah, it's cool. I got it." The carriage stayed back while Zion made his way to the bandits.

"I'm only going to say this once. Go back to the shit hole you crawled from, I don't have the time to deal with you losers." Zion tossed them some gold then turned around and started walking back to the carriage.

One might ask why he gave the bandits money, especially when he didn't want to deal with them. The reason is that bandits would just extort you for all your money, so Zion tossing them coins and then walking away was a power move in the bandit's eyes.

"Boss! That brat just disrespected you, the Great Carl, leader of the RatSnake bandits! It's beneath you to pick up money from the ground." A bandit spoke

"Another Carl?" Zion furrowed his brows.

"Hey, brat! Come here and pick up the money yourself. How dare you disrespect me, the great Carl of the RatSnake bandits."

"Dude, do you hear the name of your group? Rats and Snakes don't even go together." Zion retorted

"Impudence!" Carl's energy surged from his body in its full Expert stage glory. "I'm going to count to three and if you don't come here, apologize, and maybe lick my feet, I'll have to kill you."

Zion just ignored them and continued walking away. Normally, he would like to see where this would have gone, but his nice sleep was interrupted and all he wanted to do was go back to sleep.

"3!" The bandit waited for Zion to make a move but he stood still and just sighed. "Kids these days, no respect. I guess you can't expect anything from brats raised by their whore of a mother."

Zion paused, his feet sinking into the dirt. His face contorted so much with anger that you could see the veins bulging out of his head.

"Oh, you MOTHER-FUCKER!!!" In an instant, Zion appeared in front of Carl, grabbed his face, and slammed him into the ground, crushing his head. His anger overwhelmed him and he kept slamming his head into the ground, the small crater getting larger and larger with each slam.

"You. Ugly. Piece. Of. Fucking. Trash! Don't. You. Dare. Talk. About. My. Mother. You. Fucking. Bitch. AHHHH!!!!" With one final slam, Carl's head burst open and Zion glared at everyone around him.

"Who's fucking next?!"

The bandits surrounded him, a swarm of over a hundred, their ragged armor clinking, weapons glinting under the sun. They swarmed him, overconfident in their numbers, but fearful to attack individually.

But Zion simply rolled his shoulders, a slow, deliberate movement. The ground trembled as a deep crimson aura pulsed from his body, flames engulfing him as if he was caught on fire. He was using a martial arts technique called Body Arts. It was an ability that allowed an Aura User to change the element of their mana and engulf their entire body in it.

Zion stood alone as over a hundred bandits closed in, his crimson aura flaring to life, muscles humming with raw magical power. With a single step, he vanished, reappearing in the heart of their ranks, his fist shattering ribs and sending bodies flying like ragdolls.

"Where's that fucking confidence now you sons of bitches!" A roundhouse kick, infused with the wind element to enhance his fire, scythed through a dozen foes, their bodies tumbling away as if struck by a hurricane.

A bandit lunged with a spear, but Zion caught the tip between two fingers, snapping it effortlessly before driving his elbow into the attacker's skull.

Lightning, a deep orange color once used with fire, crackled along his arms as he weaved through the chaos, each strike landing with thunderous impact, reducing weapons and bones to splinters.

He spun, unleashing a fire-coated backhand that turned three men into blazing torches, their screams lost beneath the roar of battle. A behemoth of a bandit swung a massive club, only for Zion to duck and counter with an earth-shaking uppercut, sending the brute soaring out of sight.

Arrows rained down, but with a flick of his wrist, a shimmering barrier formed, deflecting them harmlessly into the ground. Realizing their hopelessness, the remaining bandits tried to flee, but Zion surged forward, a blur of motion, striking them down before they could take another step as the last man crumpled to the dirt.

"P-Please! Please! I surrender. Spare me!" One of the bandits pleaded

Zion, however, smiled maniacally, putting his finger over his lips as if telling the bandit to shush. And appearing over Zion's head were hundreds of arrows made of fire which rained down on all the bandits, killing them all as he walked away hearing their cries of pain and horror.

"Wow, you really did them in huh?" Lidia laughed, enjoying the sight of Zion brutally massacring them.

"They reap what they sow." He replied, getting back in the carriage, and pulling Lidia into his embrace.

"I hope you're like that if someone messes with me, you sexy battle maniac."

"Babe, if someone messes with you, they'd be dead before I could even do anything."

"You know me so well."

Their journey to the Academy was quiet after that and Zion was able to return to his nap.
