Bleach: The Invincible Slacker from Rukongai Chapter 306

This was exactly what puzzled Aizen the most about Uehara Shiroha's behavior and attitude.

Although he had always believed that "human beings are just apes in gorgeous clothes" and "gods are just humans who are skilled at disguise," he had to be honest about his own limitations. He was simply not afraid of the Soul King and the gods, but that didn't mean he didn't care about them at all.

Otherwise, he would never have conceived the idea of replacing the Soul King in the first place. The other Shinigami, even the Shinigami Captains, were all deceived by lies and elaborate disguises.

The Seireitei was just a glorified zoo, and the Shinigami were merely the monkeys contained within it, nothing more. That's why Aizen looked at people like Gin Ichimaru and Ichigo Kurosaki with a different perspective. Because these individuals were at least somewhat interesting monkeys compared to the rest.

The situation with Uehara Shiroha was completely different from anyone else he had encountered. His opponent truly didn't care about the established order. Even though he clearly knew that the Soul King had shaped the world and maintained its balance, his attitude remained unchanged.

This was a realm of detachment that even Aizen himself could not achieve. After fusing with the Hogyoku and evolving to what he thought was the highest level, Aizen had been genuinely shocked by the overwhelming power of godhood.

Paradoxically, he had begun to care more about the power of the Soul King than before. After transcending ordinary limitations, he had somehow become less transcendent in his mindset.

But Uehara Shiroha had never experienced such a contradiction or limitation.

His opponent's strength lay not only in his remarkable abilities, but also in the fundamental nature of his spirit and soul.

Uehara Shiroha said with perfect calm: "The answer is actually quite simple and straightforward. It's because I really don't care about any of it."

"To me, there is genuinely no meaningful difference between you, the Soul King, or any other so-called transcendent being. I don't agree with, care about, or accept the theory of godhood that you believe in so fervently."

"It's really that simple."

In fact, to some extent, Aizen was also such a person by nature. However, even the current Hollow Aizen could not completely ignore the Soul King's existence and influence.

On the contrary, because he had personally experienced the overwhelming power of the transcendent realm, he had developed a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Soul King's true power.

No matter how indifferent or rational Aizen appeared on the surface, this recognition and acknowledgment was itself a form of caring and investment.

Uehara Shiroha didn't care because he was not originally from this world and had no ingrained filter or preconceptions about the Soul King. Because he possessed a system that granted him missions and power, even if he spent entire days fishing and drinking leisurely, he could still surpass the Soul King's level eventually.

Under such circumstances, it was completely impossible for Uehara Shiroha to care about the Soul King or feel threatened by his authority.

Hearing Uehara Shiroha's honest answer, Aizen raised his lips in a knowing smile and said in a firm, confident tone: "Indeed, you and I are the same kind of being. We have the same elevated pursuits and ambitions!"

"Kisuke Urahara and Ichigo Kurosaki will never be able to achieve such awareness or understanding. They always maintain a loser's mentality, accepting limitations."

Precisely because he identified with Uehara Shiroha as a kindred spirit, he felt a certain existential threat. Being of the same fundamental type meant having the ability to truly hurt each other.

Uehara Shiroha's mouth also curved slightly upward: "You are absolutely right about one thing. Before this moment, I was indeed not a transcendent being in the traditional sense."

Although he was not a conventional transcendent, his system missions, various advanced equipment, and top-level abilities were far more powerful than those of any ordinary transcendent being.

Soon Aizen would once again experience what true despair felt like, and once again have his psychological defenses completely shattered. But perhaps that wouldn't be the case this time.

Aizen would certainly be defeated eventually. However, the current Aizen already possessed the refined charm and intelligence he had displayed during the Thousand Year Blood War arc.

Although he had not experienced the equivalent of a complete "enlightenment in prison," as his appearance returned to normal, his cool head and wise judgment had also returned to their peak state.

So it shouldn't be quite as easy to break through his psychological defenses, and he should be able to provide much more entertainment and challenge. A target of this caliber was genuinely hard to come by.

After hearing what Uehara Shiroha had openly admitted, Aizen's voice returned to its normal, measured cadence and became full of charismatic confidence again: "Through my recent failure and defeat, I already understand that certain transcendent-level abilities can indeed be threatening to someone like me."

"However, my spiritual pressure foundation remains solid and overwhelming. Moreover, if one only possesses the abilities of a transcendent without the corresponding accumulated experience and growth, one cannot truly evolve into a genuine transcendent being."

"This fundamental difference is my greatest advantage over you. This space represents your advantage and serves as your home territory. The Hogyoku is my home ground and source of power. Let's see who will have the last laugh when all is said and done!"

"I absolutely will not lose this time!"

He was convinced that he had seen through Uehara Shiroha's ultimate plan and motivation. His opponent, like himself, wanted to pursue a higher level of existence and evolve into a true transcendent being.

It was simply that the time since his opponent had awakened transcendent-level abilities was far too short, so he needed the assistance of the Hogyoku to complete his transformation.

The complete Hogyoku was clearly Uehara Shiroha's primary goal. His opponent, just like himself, wanted to use the Hogyoku to fundamentally reorganize his soul, break through all limitations, and become a true god.

The reason he hadn't attempted this before was that he wasn't certain whether the Hogyoku could actually accomplish such a feat. In a way, this guy was taking advantage of him and trying to exploit his situation.

Previously, Aizen had considered many different possibilities and entertained numerous theories. Considering their current circumstances, it was most logical that Uehara Shiroha sought to obtain the complete Hogyoku for himself.

This explanation made perfect sense of why his opponent had allowed him to act freely, and why he had been consistently suppressed regardless of his various schemes and efforts.

Because for Uehara Shiroha, who already possessed transcendent-level abilities, only completing his fusion with the Hogyoku and becoming a true transcendent were absolute necessities.

Everything else was secondary and completely dispensable to his ultimate goals. Perhaps because the Hogyoku had become completely integrated with Aizen's being, Uehara Shiroha could only use this special space to carefully extract the Hogyoku from him.
