At the same time, within the quiet halls of the Fifth Division, Captain Aizen sat in his chamber, a faint smile curving his lips.
"So it's finally here… Kurosaki Ichigo." His eyes glimmered with hidden amusement as the alarm echoed through Seireitei.
Across from him stood Ichimaru Gin, ever-smiling, hands tucked lazily into his sleeves. "Ah, Captain Aizen, so the ryoka have appeared at last. That means it's time to set things in motion, doesn't it?"
"Gin," Aizen replied smoothly, "go to the western sector. Stop them from entering."

"Simply slow them down. Their noise is insignificant, not worth more than that." Aizen's smile never faltered.
"Well then, I understand." Gin gave a nod, his tone light, his eyes unreadable. With a casual turn, he strode out.
Left alone, Aizen rose and walked to the window. He gazed toward the west, sensing the clash of spiritual pressure. "Kurosaki Ichigo… such a perfect piece on the board."
Outside the western gate of Seireitei, the massive form of Jidanbō Ikkanzaka—gatekeeper of the White Road Gate—towered above Ichigo. His enormous axe rested across his shoulder as his booming voice shook the air.
"At last, the one foolish enough to try and force entry without a permit! I'll deal with you properly, boy!"
Dust rose around them, the ground trembling from his sheer weight. Ichigo stared up resolutely, hand on Zangetsu's hilt. Behind him stood Orihime, Uryū, Chad, and Yoruichi in her black cat form.
"You idiot," Yoruichi muttered under her breath, tail flicking. This was not the plan. She had intended to slip them in unnoticed, not storm the main gate like reckless fools. But Ichigo's nature never allowed patience—he faced obstacles head-on, and now he stood before the largest of them.
Ishida adjusted his glasses, his eyes widening at the giant's stature. "That body… he can't even be human. Who exactly is this?"
"His name is Jidanbō," Yoruichi explained. "One of the appointed heroes of Soul Society. He guards the White Road Gate, one of Seireitei's four entrances."
Ichigo drew Zangetsu from his back, leveling the oversized blade at the giant. "So if I beat you, we get through? That's all it takes?"
"That's all," Jidanbō thundered, gripping his axe with both hands.
"Good. Then here I come!" Ichigo's eyes burned with resolve.
With a grin, Jidanbō swung his axe down with crushing force. The ground split, dust exploding as the weapon struck where Ichigo had stood.
Inside the walls just beyond the gate, members of the Ninth Division watched the tremors spread through the stone.
"Vice-Captain Hisagi, seems like the intruders will be handled by Jidanbō," a seated officer said, disappointment clear in his voice. "A shame we don't get the chance to fight."
"That's how it is," Hisagi replied calmly, the scarred vice-captain resting a hand on his Zanpakutō. The tattooed "69" on his cheek marked his presence as unmistakable. "He's the gatekeeper for a reason. Out there, his strength is more than enough."
At that moment, two figures appeared with seamless Shunpo.
"Captain Shiraha. Third seat Kira."
The Ninth Division members stiffened, quickly bowing. It was shocking to see Shiraha himself here—the famed captain of the Seventh Division, whose power was whispered about across Seireitei. To appear for a simple incursion seemed almost absurd.
"Captain Shiraha, Lieutenant Kira," Hisagi said, frowning slightly. "What brings you here? For a handful of ryoka, this seems far below your concern."
Shiraha's calm smile remained. "Nothing special. I merely came to observe."
Extending his senses through Observation Haki, Shiraha detected the battle at the gate clearly. Ichigo's spiritual pressure clashed against Jidanbō's, raw but fierce. It wouldn't be long before the giant fell. He also sensed Orihime, Chad, Uryū—and Yoruichi's familiar presence.
But Shiraha wasn't here for them. His goal lay deeper, in completing a system task.
A whisper brushed through his mind.

"As I thought," Shiraha murmured inwardly. "Progress is tied to awakening my blade."
With 80% completion, his most destructive spells had reached perfection. Cursed Technique: Red could now devastate even captains like Byakuya or Gin. His domain stretched further, its infinite expanse widening. He stood stronger than ever before.
"Ah, Captain Shiraha. You came as well?"
Ichimaru Gin appeared, his sly smile as unreadable as ever.
"Captain Ichimaru." Shiraha greeted him with his usual calm expression.
A thunderous groan followed. The White Road Gate rumbled as it began to lift. Dust rained from the stone, gears grinding as the massive doors creaked upward. All eyes turned.
Within the opening stood Jidanbō, sweat dripping down his massive brow, his body trembling. Kurosaki Ichigo stood before him, battered but unyielding, his Zanpakutō still raised.
The gatekeeper's voice quavered. "C-Captain Ichimaru Gin… Captain Kuchiki Shiraha…" His eyes widened in fear at the presence of two captains.
"Now, now," Gin said, his smile sharp as his hand slipped toward his Zanpakutō. "As a guard, letting the enemy this close isn't acceptable, is it?" His blade extended in a flash, Shinso lancing forward toward Jidanbō's throat.
But before the strike could land—
"Spell Reversal: He!"
A surge of violet energy erupted, colliding with Gin's blade and forcing it back.
"Captain Ichimaru," Shiraha said evenly, a smile lingering on his lips, "why such haste to silence Jidanbō? Are you trying to kill him to keep something hidden? Or perhaps these ryoka mean more to you than you'd like us to believe?"
Gin's smile never faded, but his narrowed eyes glimmered with something sharp and dangerous.
