Born In Ashes: The Enigma Chapter 50

Azrael placed his hand on the awakening stone. The instant his hand touched the stone—

(Task—Complete Your Awakening)

(Reward: Unlock Shop and Inventory)

Azrael was already immune to task notifications that appeared before him like a ghost, so his expression didn’t change in the slightest.

As his plam touched the awakening stone, it glowed along with the formation that covered the entire floor of the room.

A strange energy seeped out from the stone and entered Azrael’s body through the palm of his hand, quickly settling in his heart.

The power emitting from the formation covering the floor simulated both the energy that had entered Azrael’s heart and the cosmic energy within his body.

Normally, the cosmic energy of an unawakened person is scattered throughout their body. It is also the reason why they can’t use cosmic energy before their awakening and condensing their source core.

But Azrael’s situation was different. Because he had already reached the mid level of the breathing method and created an energy pathway for his cosmic energy, all of his energy continued to flow through this pathway instead of being scattered throughout his body.

It was also the reason he could utilize cosmic energy and bring it out of his body even without a source core.

As the formation simulated the cosmic energy and the energy of the awakening stone, Azrael’s body trembled slightly, and he lost all control over his cosmic energy.

Without being able to do anything, the cosmic energy flowed through the pathway created by the primary energy veins and rushed into his heart, merging with the energy of the awakening stone that was already there.

As both of these energies merged, they began to take the shape of a small diamond-like crystal.

At the same time, strange waves of energy that seemed to come from the very source of the world began to emit from Azrael’s body.

Zyrek raised an eyebrow in surprise as he felt the power of the energy waves coming from Azrael.

"The power of his source core..." He muttered with narrowed eyes, feeling something was off.

Silas noticed Zyrek’s expression and smirked.

"You think the power of his source core is higher than it should be?"

Hearing Silas’ voice, Zyrek looked at him and nodded.

"It’s actually natural that his source core would be stronger than other people’s," Silas said and paused, not saying anything further.

Zyrek’s eye twitched when he saw this and he asked impatiently, "Why is that? Why is his source core stronger than other people’s?"

"That’s because..." Silas replied with a smile that was practically asking for a beating, "I am not going to tell you."

Zyrek was baffled when he saw his grown-up son’s expression and was completely taken aback.

Silas smiled even more brightly and nodded his head.

’This old man ignored me earlier, right? Now I’ll also ignore him and won’t tell him why Azrael’s source core is so strong...’ His inner self rubbed its hands like a mischievous imp, and he felt like laughing.

’Die out of curiosity, you old man.’

In the end, he couldn’t hold back his laughter and burst out laughing.

Zyrek was left speechless as he watched his son’s idiotic behavior and felt like he should send him to a mental healer.

He sighed at having such a useless son and looked at his daughter-in-law with some pity.

’Poor child, she has to live with this idiot for the rest of her life.’

Ashara also felt secondhand embarrassment watching Silas laugh like an idiot and rubbed her brow.

"Father, Azu has already reached the mid level of the breathing method and his cosmic energy is over 170 points. Coupled with the 15% increase in power the breathing method brings to cosmic energy, it’s natural that his source core is stronger than other people’s."

"Oh, so he reached mid... Wait! He what?" Zyrek first nodded calmly, but when his mind processed Ashara’s words, his eyes widened.

He looked at Ashara and, seeing the proud expression on her face, realized he hadn’t misheard.

Zyrek was among the strongest beings in Genesis and had lived for a long time, but even for him, he had never heard of anyone reaching the mid level of the breathing method before their awakening.

The conditions for finding and refining primary energy veins are simply too difficult for unawakened people.

Even if people tried, they could barely find and refine a few primary energy veins before their awakening—something that brought no benefits to the unawakened.

Zyrek remained in a stunned state for several seconds before his face bloomed like a sunflower and he laughed out loud.

"As expected from my grandson—he’s almost as awesome as I was when I was young!"

This time, it was Silas’ turn to look at his father as if he were staring at an idiot.

If he wanted to brag, he should at least brag about something that didn’t make people feel like he was mentally unstable.

Just as they were talking amongst themselves, the energy waves emitting from Azrael’s body suddenly vanished.

"Young Lord’s source core is fully condensed," Lia said in a slightly excited tone, looking at him carefully.

Not only her—everyone else was also looking at him without blinking. Now that his source core had condensed, it was time for his power to awaken.

As they all watched Azrael intently, a faint glow appeared around his body. f .r e\ewebnov(e)(l).c om

Suddenly, all their hair ruffled slightly as a gust of wind began to flow in the closed room out of nowhere.

"Power of Wind," Zyrek muttered with a slight smile, and the next moment, the glow around Azrael turned deep green as wind began to swirl around him.

Ashara and the others also smiled upon seeing this, but just when they thought everything was over, the wind in the room suddenly disappeared.

They were taken aback by the abrupt shift, but before they could react, a strange wave of energy spread through the room and—

The green wind around Azrael changed color, instantly turning into a beautiful shade of purple—like aurora lights in the night sky.

"This..." Everyone’s eyes widened in shock as they witnessed the sudden change in Azrael’s wind, and the same thought appeared in their minds.

"Power of Wind with a Natural Attribute."
