Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game Chapter 121

Why speak so seriously to two terrified elderly people?

"It’s not about the one million compensation to settle this. If your son wakes up and loses his ability to work, I will make other arrangements for him. Is that acceptable?" Charlotte Miller seemed to mutter softly, half bent over. She thought it was necessary to arrange everything perfectly. She had the ability to do so and shouldn’t owe anything, otherwise, she’d never be at peace in this life.

"Alright... okay... that’s fine." The elderly man didn’t know what to say, just clutched the bank card loaded with a million in cash tightly, as if holding onto his lifeline.

Charlotte didn’t expect the mediation to end so easily and hastily went to the hospital to see Luna Miller.

Passing the parking lot, she instinctively glanced at the spot where Atlas Hallow parked yesterday. Actually, it was a bit funny; of course, the car was gone, he had already left.

Mocking herself a bit, she swiftly walked into the inpatient department, where Luna was still in critical care, with Freya Morgon keeping watch outside for the entire night.

"Mom, you don’t look well. Didn’t I tell you to go home and rest? Staying here won’t help." Charlotte looked at her mother, who seemed to have aged several years overnight, her once radiant face now immensely weary.

Freya held Charlotte’s hand, speaking gently, "Charlotte, what mother would leave at a time like this?"

Charlotte’s gaze fell on the intensive care unit. In the vast glass room, only the nurses moved around. In the separated beds, most patients were thin and frail, their lives sustained by the tubes attached to them, the lines on the monitors fluctuating rapidly and slowly.

"Luna’s condition has improved a lot. She might be moved to the critical care unit tomorrow," Freya’s eyes were on the bed farthest to the left, where Luna lay unconscious, her beauty seeming to vanish.

"I’ve handled the compensation with that driver. I’m here today, Mom, please go back and get some rest." Charlotte firmly pushed her mother towards the elevator entrance, "Leave this to me."

Freya suddenly realized that her young daughter seemed to have grown up, appearing even more mature than her sister. She had dealt with the compensation matter, something that seemed to take forever in the news, in just a morning.

"Don’t worry too much. The man’s parents were honest people, and they had no objections to my plan, so it was resolved quickly. Please hurry back to rest. If anything happens, I’ll call immediately." Charlotte sent her mother into the elevator, waving as the doors closed slowly.

Sitting on the hard, cold plastic bench in the hallway, she picked up her phone to call Ethan Baird.

"Ethan, I need to ask a favor from you." She needed to send her parents to the United States, which required buying a house and arranging everything there. Charlotte always had a bad hunch, an undefined sense of foreboding pressing towards her.

From the other end of the line, Ethan’s cheerful voice rose, "Sweetheart, just tell me what you need. No need for formalities here, right?"

"I need to buy a house." Charlotte’s gaze fell on the position of Luna’s ward. In truth, watching from here wasn’t helpful, but it seemed that having someone watch over brought a little peace of mind.

"Did Atlas Hallow go bankrupt? Or is he so stingy that he wouldn’t give you a house? If he won’t buy it, I will." Ethan sounded a bit annoyed, speaking half-jokingly, half-seriously.

Needing sweetheart to buy a house was simply a joke.

Atlas Hallow had money like it was grain, with countless real estate holdings in his name. He could practically build a new city; how could he deny sweetheart a single house?

Felt like starting a fight...

"It has nothing to do with him. I want to buy a house for my parents in the United States. Also, I want to end the Miller Family’s business affairs as soon as possible and move them all to the United States. If something truly happens, I’m sure Ethan will take care of it without me having to ask."

It was like being a warrior heading to the battlefield, feeling painful and reluctant to send the dearest people far away.

Perhaps there wouldn’t be a war, but if it occurred, it would be devastating, so the more who can stay distant, the better.
