It’s just a child, why won’t he give it to her?
Why not just give it to her? This question has been repeating in Atlas Hallow’s mind more than once.
Actually, the answer has always been just one: because the woman he married is Charlotte Miller. He hopes that the relationship between the two of them is clean and pure. He can’t bear to put a fertilized egg into Charlotte’s uterus, as that would mean there is someone else between them, a feeling so terrifying that he can’t bear it for even a moment.
Atlas Hallow walked into the hospital ward, turned on his phone, and was struck by the sight of Charlotte Miller’s number displayed among the missed calls. She only called once, just once.
Such a proud little girl, she can’t find him after one call, so she stops calling?
His fingers gently brushed over the number and then dialed it.
The phone beeped, but no one answered.
Charlotte Miller was staying at the Miller Family house tonight. She hadn’t slept in her own room for a long time, and suddenly felt a strange sense of security, as if she had returned to her childhood.
When the phone rang, she was about to fall asleep in a sleepy haze. Seeing Atlas Hallow’s number, her face turned cold, and she directly hung up.

Charlotte simply turned the phone to silent mode and threw it onto the sofa, wrapping herself in the blanket, determined to get a good night’s sleep. Lately, she’s been really drained of energy, finding herself falling asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow.

"Where did Madam go today?" On such a winter night, even the driver had snuggled into his bed early. There was nothing to do today, thinking of sleeping early, when he got a call from the young master.
The driver’s hand trembled a bit, Madam isn’t missing, right? But what does that have to do with him, since today Madam said she didn’t need a car, and tomorrow morning doesn’t need pickup either. He thought the young master would be picking her up and dropping her off. The voice on the other end of the call was cold and piercingly chilly, even the warm bed he had just settled into suddenly felt like an icy cave.
"Madam said today, no need for me to pick her up, she has matters, and tomorrow morning doesn’t need the car either." He explained honestly, thinking he’s just a driver, how could he know where Madam went today?
Atlas Hallow hung up the phone, the dark depths of his eyes resembling an endless night where not a trace of starlight was visible.
Is she mad at him? Mad for him turning off the phone today?
This little girl indeed has quite a temper.
Charlotte Miller’s every move makes him rethink his understanding, often for the things he assumed she wouldn’t do, she goes ahead and does them, so decisively.
Not being able to track her whereabouts, unable to firmly control the situation around her, truly feels terrible. Atlas Hallow’s face darkened, an aura of hostility began to radiate from his entire being. No need to go back to the apartment to check, he knew she wasn’t there.
She should know that some jokes can be made, but certain jokes she’s not ready to make.
Atlas Hallow returned to the apartment, and it was indeed cold and deserted. She hadn’t even come back after work.
There aren’t many places Charlotte could go, so Atlas Hallow was fairly certain she had gone back to the Miller Family.
After entering the bathroom, taking a shower, and changing clothes, the watch just pointed to midnight. Going now shouldn’t be too late, right?
By midnight, Charlotte was already breathing evenly, sound asleep.
