He was working overtime in the office, and not only was his woman not here to accompany him, she actually dared to run off to some dinner with another man. Picking up the phone, he dialed out. After exiting the elevator and walking through the imposing lobby of the office building, Charlotte could feel almost everyone secretly looking at her.
Being the center of attention didn’t feel good, they were probably privately imagining the boundless romance happening in the CEO’s office on the top floor. But how would they know her current predicament?
Straightening her back, she elegantly walked out of the lobby, the sharp sound of her high heels echoing rhythmically, as if stepping on the hearts of those other women.
Their eyes seemed to spark with little embers. Charlotte felt that if those sparks all flew out at once, they could burn her clothes into a fishnet, with holes beyond repair.
Before she even left the office building, the phone in her bag was already ringing cheerfully.
