"You guys didn’t see it, President Hallow was so cool, he actually picked up Secretary Miller. I’m so envious..."
"Yeah, yeah, if I were Secretary Miller, I’d be over the moon today. I heard Jack Smith cornered her in the elevator, and when the doors opened, President Hallow carried her away. She’s really basking in her glory..."
"But if I were a man, I’d like Secretary Miller too. Look at her, she’s beautiful even without makeup. In this company, who could possibly be prettier than her...?"
When she finished speaking, the office girls felt something was off. Turning around, they saw Ava Walker standing behind them with an unpleasant expression.
What does it mean, "who’s prettier than her in the company," is Charlotte really that beautiful? She certainly didn’t think so.
"Can you get paid by chatting instead of working?" Ava Walker glanced arrogantly at the group of young women gathered together. It was close to lunch, so everyone would pause their work for a cup of tea, relax a bit before heading to lunch together.
Everyone bowed their heads, watching as Ava Walker walked straight into her office and closed the door, finally letting out a breath of relief.
"We’re doomed. We just said Secretary Miller is the prettiest; Miss Walker can’t stand it. If she tattles to Junior President Hallow, we’re done for." The young women were a bit anxious, the Hallow Clan offered great benefits and work environment. No one wanted to lose their job over a joke.
"She probably won’t, she wouldn’t go to Junior President Hallow herself saying someone thinks Secretary Miller is prettier. How embarrassing." As footsteps and voices gradually faded away, Ava Walker’s office door slowly opened. Her alluring eyes seemed filled with venomous snakes, ready to crawl out...

He wouldn’t take care of her, he would hurt her, and each time it felt worse.
