Ron Lee kicked the gate open and came storming forward with a fierce look.
Behind him, more than twenty members were rushing to see the drama that was about to unfold. Everyone was showing eager expressions and anxiety as they followed Ron Lee.
Jia Kai stood up and observed the crowd coming directly toward her with great intention. Mo Han also stood up and held the cursed sword in his right hand.
On the other hand, Fatty Lambu's hands were shaking in fear after seeing such a large mob, who almost looked like they came to fight. He immediately moved behind Jia Kai.
Just as Ron Lee crossed the Aura Tree at the center, Jia Kai raised her spear-like staff.
She stomped it on the ground, and a ripple of energy was released, knocking down several wooden pots on the sides.
It was just a casual move, but the energy released was not easy to ignore.
After seeing her move, Ron Lee came to his senses. He realized that he had acted on impulse and forgotten that Jia Kai was much stronger than him and ranked third among the inner court disciples.
But there was no turning back now, as many people had followed him to watch the drama, and people would think of him as a laughingstock if he backed off now in fear.
As Jia Kai and Mo Han watched, Ron Lee finally took a step forward, keeping his smug face on. He walked forward and stopped right in front of Jia Kai. But in the heat of the moment, he forgot that the onlookers who followed him were still standing far behind, afraid of Jia Kai's anger.
Ron Lee raised his hand and pointed a finger at Jia Kai's face. "You might not know about the conflict I had with this dumb bastard. As inner court disciples, we must respect each other. I advise you to immediately remove these two fellows from the inner court," Ron Lee said loudly, trying not to anger Jia Kai.
"Respect is only given to people with equal strength. I already promised them the servant position under me. I don't have the habit of turning back on my word. You may leave now," Jia Kai said directly, without beating around the bush.
"Jia Kai, there are many great things about strength. Many people with great strength are already buried under the soil because of their recklessness. You should know how to respect influence and great families. The future is uncertain, and anything could happen at any time. I will consider this a favour if you kick these two fellows out. One day, I will return your favour," Ron Lee said like a noble young master, trying to intimidate his opponent with casual dialogue.
Many onlookers nodded their heads in support of Ron Lee, as his words made sense to them. But Jia Kai, who clearly knew about the dramatic acting of Ron Lee, ignored him completely.
"I don't need any favours from you. Also, I have no intention of discarding Mo Han. You better leave right now," Jia Kai declared, folding her hands with a serious look.
All the spectators began whispering among themselves after hearing Jia Kai's sharp words. They did not understand why Jia Kai was supporting Mo Han at the cost of opposing Ron Lee. So they began making their own assumptions.
"Why would she go this far for someone like him?"
"Maybe Mo Han has some hidden background?"
"Could they be related somehow?"
"She must see something in him we don't…"
Ron Lee observed Jia Kai for a long time. He understood that Jia Kai was not going to change no matter what he said now.
"Ptchh…" Ron Lee spat and shifted his focus toward Mo Han, who stood with the crimson sword in hand.
"You're supporting this guy even at the cost of opposing me? You'll definitely suffer greatly for this. I don't know what good deeds this fellow has done for you, but his fate is already sealed. The Sun Piercing Sword Technique will burn him alive soon. One day, I'll personally come again to put some dead flowers on his body," Ron Lee said with a smug look as he looked down on Mo Han.
Many onlookers also made several loud comments, supporting Ron Lee's statement. Many were certain that Mo Han would die because of the Sun Piercing Sword.
But suddenly, Mo Han lifted his sword and placed it directly against Ron Lee's face.
"What? Do you want to kill me with your pitiful cultivation?" Ron Lee laughed loudly in a mocking tone.
All the spectators began laughing with loud booing.
All the laughter stopped suddenly.
The sword held by Mo Han lit up with a bright flame, and the flame danced like a wildfire.
Everyone opened their mouths in loud gasps.
Ron Lee stumbled back in fear as the flame almost touched his face.
But out of all the people, the most surprised one was Jia Kai. She never expected Mo Han to succeed in the Sun Piercing Sword Technique—because she had personally tried to learn the technique and failed to master it. Her eyes went wide open as she watched the cursed sword in Mo Han's hands glowing brightly.
Fatty Lambu finally stood proudly without any fear and began laughing to mock all the spectators.
"So what do you say now, little Ron? Is this flame still going to burn me alive?" Mo Han asked as he played with the sword single-handedly. The flame danced around him like a living beast as he swirled the sword around himself.
Ron Lee turned his shocked face away and immediately left without looking back. His fists were tightly clenched as rage filled his eyes.
The death plan he made for Mo Han had actually backfired right in front of his face. He didn't find anyone to blame. He felt even more enraged because it had happened in front of so many spectators.
Jia Kai stood there in shock, watching Mo Han, who was still playing with the sword with a wide smile.
Mo Han never expected he would find such a dramatic scene to display his skill. He felt happier now than when he had first learned the Sun Piercing Sword Technique.
