Calculating My Way To Immortality Chapter 9

Yu Tian jumped and landed on a tree branch.

He thought to himself that he felt a little worried about leaving the lady by herself when she was injured, but he had used some herbs that had a smell to keep low-level monsters away. The calculation ability also showed low chances of monsters going there, so it should be fine.

From his high position, he looked around the forest. He thought to himself that the Black Forest was really huge. He looked toward the side of the mountains and saw the sect from far away.

He sighed and turned around, activating his ability.

He first checked for a Starfall Blossom.

Luckily for him, there was indeed another Starfall Blossom nearby, but unfortunately, he had a one percent chance of surviving if he went where it was. He sighed. After healing her, maybe he could take her to it. Her chances of being able to take it after recovering were sixty percent, and ninety percent when she was with him. That wasn’t bad.

He then checked the chances of being able to leave the forest with her after she broke through to the Core Formation realm, and it showed fifty-five percent. Well, that was better than the previous one percent.

"Well, time to work," he thought, jumping over to another tree and activating calculation once again.

He thought to himself that there were quite a few healing herbs, but there weren’t that many that could help her recover as a peak Foundation Establishment cultivator. After narrowing it down to herbs with high chances of success for healing Foundation Establishment cultivators, he followed the path.

As he jumped from one tree to another, he felt a little nervous. This was because there was a high chance of there being a monster in the place where the herbs were. The only reason he was going despite the danger was because the calculation showed that he had a seventy percent chance of defeating the monster.

He thought to himself that this was going to be his first real battle. He wanted to test out some things and also get the feel of his power as he didn’t know exactly where he stood after the breakthroughs.

A few minutes later, he landed before an opening. His eyes widened as he took in the scene before him. It was a square clearing, about twenty square meters and filled with all sorts of herbs.

He slowly walked closer, wondering if a human was living here.

The calculation showed zero percent. He thought to himself that this was surprising - the area looked man-made. Thinking of this, the calculation showed ninety percent.

He held his chin. So someone used to live here but not anymore, he thought, and the number showed eighty percent.

"Well, that makes things easier," he thought, though he wondered what sort of person would live in the Black Forest and even plant herbs here. Although the Black Forest was rich in qi which made it extremely good for growing herbs, he didn’t believe that it was worth it to live here considering the dangers.

Looking at the herbs, the person was probably an alchemist, and not a high-level one considering the herbs here were just ninth and eighth grade. The numbers shifted and showed eighty percent.

He nodded. No wonder he wasn’t here anymore. People who practiced secondary professions generally didn’t have high cultivations. It seemed he had fallen to the monsters here. The number showed a hundred percent.

Yu Tian sighed. Such was the fate of those who came to the Black Forest.

He walked into the herb garden, looking around. "It seems the monster isn’t here," he thought, but the number showed five percent.

"So it’s here?" he asked. The number shifted to ninety percent.

"Where is it?" he asked.

Suddenly, he felt the ground beneath him shake violently. Before he could make sense of what was happening, the earth broke apart and he fell inside.

"This is..." Yu Tian looked around him.

He was inside some sort of underground cave.

He remembered how the ground had shaken before and he was swallowed in. He felt a little nervous. Did the monster have control over the earth element? he wondered. [100%] the number showed.

He sighed. This was really unlucky. He looked up - the entrance had been sealed. He thought to himself that he was at a great disadvantage here since it was the monster’s home turf.

He began walking forward slowly, continuously calculating the location of the monster. He reached a point with two branching paths. On the left path, he saw that it led to a dead end and there was a human skeleton there.

His eyes brightened - the skeleton had a weapon.

He walked over and picked up the sword next to the skeleton. "Thank you," he said, bowing to the skeleton. He then turned around and walked the other path.

He felt the weight of the weapon in his hands, thinking to himself that although he didn’t know how to use a sword, it didn’t feel foreign in his hands. With his Path to Heaven, he should be able to fight even better than a master swordsman.

As long as he could do calculations and follow the best possible path, he didn’t believe he’d lose.

As he walked, he came across another dead end. He looked back and noticed that the path he had come from was shifting. He smiled. It seems this monster isn’t a fighter type, he thought, and the number shifted to ninety-nine percent.

It seemed the monster drew people here with the garden and then trapped them underground, weakening them by taking them in circles until they couldn’t move anymore and then ate them, he thought.

[87%] the number confirmed his suspicion.

If that was the case, then there was no point in wasting time looking for a way out.

He stood still, holding the sword before him. He then closed his eyes and began using the Path to Heaven, calculating the best possible path of circulating his internal energy. He drew the internal energy through this path and into the sword, coating it in internal energy.

He thought to himself that usually, a common sword wouldn’t have good energy conductivity, but if he followed the best possible path, he should be able to at least imitate the power of a low-tier magical treasure.

He then opened his eyes and swung his sword.
