Haru watched her silently.
As Koneko removed her kimono, tossing it aside, her soft, pale body was revealed.
"Hmm, a Nekoshou. This world has such a rare youkai species as well?" A cool, ethereal voice echoed beside Haru's ear.
Athena, her silver hair shimmering, her dark eyes—vertical pupils like a cat's—fixed on Koneko, materialized beside him.
"What's going on? I didn't do anything to trigger her... heat cycle... did I?" Haru murmured, his eyes narrowing.
Nekoshou, a type of High-Class Youkai capable of manipulating natural energy through Senjutsu, were known for their feline traits. In fact, they were believed to be an evolved form of cats, hence the name—Nekoshou, the Cat Spirit.
Sharing similar characteristics, they also shared the... biological functions of cats, including heat cycles. But Koneko was still young; her first heat shouldn't be for a while. And triggering it prematurely required a surge in... mating desires.
But Koneko was always so stoic and reserved around him, her only displays of emotion being looks of disdain at his perverted antics. This didn't seem like a case of her desires getting the better of her.

After a moment, Athena's eyes narrowed slightly, a look of surprise on her face.
