Unlike the Gods, still caught up in their fantasies of dividing the spoils, the Four Great Satans, who had been watching the battle intently, reacted instantly, their faces slick with sweat as they activated Lilith's protective barrier, pouring their magical energy into it.
With a combined effort, they barely managed to contain the blast.
The Devils within the city, still paralyzed by the earlier display of power, looked at the shimmering barrier with tears in their eyes.
They had seen the mushroom cloud rising above the wasteland. If that attack had struck Lilith...
The thought filled them with terror.
"Thank goodness... the Maous reacted in time... The barrier held..."
Then, another tremor shook the city, and their faces paled. "Not again! Please, spare us! We'll do anything! Just... don't hit us again!"
