Grandma Chen took a sip, looking as if completely revitalized. Her whole body relaxed, and she finally deigned to give her niece a proper look. "Go on, what are you up to?"
Aunt Gu looked thoroughly aggrieved. "It’s all because of Changqing. He has no ambition when it comes to family matters... Aunt, Changqing’s mother died early. I raised him as my own son! Can the Gu family’s assets possibly fall into the hands of that mother and daughter? Absolutely not!"

Aunt Gu heard this and quickly offered more flattering words, but Grandma Chen remained unmoved.

Gu Ning sat there alone, her face gloomy.
A subordinate came to report, and she blasted him, "Why didn’t you stop her? And your intel is utter trash! What’s the use of keeping a bunch of incompetents like you!"
The subordinate was berated into submission. He felt deeply wronged, but then he recalled how the big boss herself had been kowtowing just moments before, and instantly felt a bit better.

She glanced at the person beside her. "What’s the situation with Tang Yuan and Gu Mingzhu?"
The subordinate reported accurately, "Madame Gu and Miss Gu have been coming to familiarize themselves with the track every day."
Gu Ning let out a long sigh. "It looks like Mingzhu is going to take first place again."
She picked up her tablet, opened the betting app, and frowned. "Look, eight out of ten people are betting on her. No one else stands a chance!"
A subordinate leaned in and said cautiously, "President Gu, that young woman from earlier seems promising. Maybe she’ll be the dark horse this time? Why don’t we bet on number 85?"
Gu Ning shot him a look and said with annoyance, "What do you know? Mingzhu has participated in many races and has never once lost to number 85 in their encounters. Would I be crazy to bet on 85?"
She gently entered 50,000,000 for her wager, saying leisurely, "Although the payout for betting on Mingzhu is smaller, it’s a guaranteed win."
