Gu Anxi stopped reading after about a dozen messages. She knew Wang Keru had sent them because of today’s incident. She was even more certain that Wang Keru was either siding with the Qin family or hadn’t given up on wanting Gu Anxi to help win over Qin Siyuan.
With these thoughts occupying her mind, Gu Anxi decided not to go back to the ward. Instead, she sat on a bench in the hospital corridor, lost in thought.
"What are you thinking about?" a voice sounded beside her.
She looked up and saw Bo Xichen.
He was looking down at her and asked again, "Little friend, what are you thinking about?"
"I’m not a little friend," Gu Anxi replied softly.
Bo Xichen sat down beside her and chuckled. "You’re twenty, you know how to fight, and you’re a little rebel. Still say you’re not a little friend?"
Gu Anxi was speechless and stood up to leave.
Bo Xichen didn’t stop her. However, after taking a few steps, she halted abruptly and spun around to face him.
Her expression and entire demeanor were just like a bristling kitten.
Bo Xichen found it quite amusing.
Gu Anxi immediately hurried away, and a moment later, the sound of a door closing was heard.
Bo Xichen remained seated. He rarely had moments , doing nothing, just sitting and wasting time. As the heir to Beicheng’s premier family, he had far too many matters to attend to. Yet, right now, he just wanted to sit here.
About a minute later, the ward door opened again, and the slender figure once more sat down beside him.
Bo Xichen turned his head.
His ice-like eyes landed on her face, but he remained silent.
Gu Anxi bit her lip. "That... meal was quite good. Thank you."
A hint of a smile seemed to touch Bo Xichen’s lips again. "I usually have dinner at six."
Gu Anxi merely acknowledged with an "Oh," and said no more, her gaze falling to her hands resting on her lap.
Suddenly, Bo Xichen asked, "Di Se. You’re not going anymore?"
"I’ve taken a week off," Gu Anxi said, her gaze lowered.
Lately, she had been taking care of her father, so she anticipated not having as much time in the future. She had many things to manage. She would hire professional nurses; as for Granny Chen, she didn’t want her to work so hard.
Bo Xichen nodded in understanding and stood up, appearing ready to leave.
Gu Anxi remained seated. From ahead, she heard his voice, "Remember, dinner is at six."
As it turned out, Gu Anxi not only went for dinner herself but also brought a portion back for Granny Chen.
Feng Mian sighed. "This kid treats our place like a cafeteria, huh? Even if it is a cafeteria, she could at least toss a couple of coins our way!"

The atmosphere during dinner was rather peculiar. Qin Han, after a busy day, had only managed a short nap in the afternoon before asking his wife to contact Gu Anxi.

At the dining table, Qin Han and Qin Siyuan discussed the morning’s events, making Wang Keru’s heart race. Though she didn’t understand much, she could sense Qin Han was starting to attach some importance to Anxi. Hastily finishing her meal, she couldn’t wait to go to the hospital that evening.
She had to find Anxi now. She would take advantage of this current wave of attention to urge Anxi to quickly return to the Qin family home, apologize first, and then work on winning back Qin Siyuan.
Wang Keru’s car arrived at the hospital. Just as she got out, she saw Gu Anxi talking with a young, tall, and remarkably handsome man who looked like a doctor.
However, Wang Keru, accustomed to a life of luxury, looked down on ordinary people. Her sole focus was on clinging tightly to the Qin family.
Wang Keru quickly walked over. "Anxi."
Gu Anxi turned her head to look at Wang Keru.
