Caspian pushed Asher away at the same time that he moved to the side, wincing at the fact that his nails had dug into the Alpha a bit.
Just as he expecting, pushing with all his strength wasn’t enough to make Asher do so much as flinch.
But it did distract the Alpha long enough for him to slip out of where he was pinned, going at a dead run for the door.
Asher caught him with ease; he picked him up with a single arm before he could even carry out his escape plan.
Asher crashed their lips together, cutting his words off.
Caspian always bristled whenever Asher hinted that he was fragile but now he felt it.
He felt like the Alpha was about to snap him in half, the violent kiss a mix of lipstick, metal and pheromones.
Caspian couldn’t say how he broke free the second time, a welt of angry lines on the exposed part of Asher’s chest from his writhing.
The Alpha had most of his buttons undone like he always did, his fur coat not on him.
He didn’t turn around when he slipped free, dashing for the door.
Hearing the heavy sound of Asher’s footsteps right behind him made his heartbeat deafening in his ears.
Caspian’s hands trembled as he hastily locked the door after slamming it close, jumping back because Asher rammed into the door hard enough to rattle the walls.
Caspian stared in frozen horror for a few seconds, the sinking thought that the reinforced doors would actually not be able to hold off Asher chilling his blood.
He didn’t wait to see if the Alpha would actually manage to break through the door, dashing to the bathroom for a bathrobe, and then out the bedroom door.
Asher still hadn’t let up on his efforts to get through the door, but it seemed to be holding him in.
Caspian leaned against the door outside the bathroom, clutching his bathrobe close, his phone held in trembling hands.
He forced himself to take a deep breath and then five more before ringing up the Beta.
Jael picked immediately, surprise in his tone as he spoke. "Caspian?"
"Hi," Caspian breathed, trying hard to keep the shakiness out of his voice. "Are you busy?"
"No?" Jael said slowly, his frown easy to hear. "Isn’t Asher back?"
"He is," Caspian said slowly, he couldn’t tell if the thudding he could hear was Asher or his own heartbeat.
He needed to be calm or Jael and Asher would think that he was too weak to handle Asher and try to get him to leave for his own safety.
"He’s just having another episode," He said as calmly as he could manage with all the pounding.
Jael went silent for a few seconds but when he spoke again, he was clearly on the move. "He’s what?"
"Where are you? Are you alright? Did you use the alarm?" He immediately asked, not waiting for Caspian to confirm his questions.
Caspian knew he should try to put more distance between himself and Asher but he really didn’t want to face anyone else in his current position.
"I’m fine, I just... I locked him in the closet and it’s keeping him in-"
A deafening noise interrupted Caspian’s explanation, the Omega’s legs moving him the fuck away from the bedroom door before he could even process what it was.
"What the fuck was that?" Jael demanded, managing to keep his voice level while cursing.
"I think Asher broke through the closet door," Caspian relayed, barely stopping himself from running down the hallway.
There was an alarm trigger button in the bedroom, it was too late to use it now.
"It was reinforced with steel," Jael said in a worried voice, "That’s not supposed to happen."
"Well, that’s what I thought too," Caspian said mid-pant, "And now I can’t even get back to use the alarm."
"I’m on my way back," Jael immediately went back to his calming best. "I need you to put as much distance between yourself and Asher-"
Caspian huffed, like he needed to be told. "I’m already downstairs, the bedroom door should delay him a bit."
Jael was unconvinced, "Right, that’s what you said last time."
Caspian wasn’t pleased about the fact that he had to run around in a bathrobe while wearing lingerie under it.
But Jael was nice enough to stay on the phone, until the Beta got back to the mansion, in record time too.
He was waiting in the foyer when the doors were pushed in, Jael immediately beelining for him.
As they spoke, the sounds of rampage on the second floor were clear to hear as Asher searched for him.
"I would rather not have to do this in my bathrobe," Caspian muttered, disgruntled.
Jael already had some of men going to restrain Asher, scratching his head.
"Sorry about that," He said with a straight face, one that Caspian picked up on immediately.
As soon as he did, he was reminded that he was still wearing smeared lipstick. "The lower half of my face is stained red, isn’t it?" He asked dryly.
"Hardly," Jael snorted, relieved to see that he was unharmed and mostly unshaken. "You’ve just got a little bit..." He pointed at his own face with a finger. "Here."
Caspian just sighed and went off to find a mirror, surprised to find out that he didn’t look as clownish as he had been expecting.
The red of the lipstick had clung stubbornly to his lips, refusing to clean off even after he washed his face.
He came out of the guest bathroom to find Jael waiting for him, the Beta led him to a sitting room to distract him from the loud thudding upstairs with a friendly conversation.
"Do you really want to have to deal with this ever so often?" Jael asked instead, immediately botching his own plans of a harmless conversation.
Caspian had really been shaken up the moment it happened, the thought that he wouldn’t have been able to escape Asher had been really terrifying.
