Caspian decided to take the matter into his own hands, he would drive out to the store tomorrow and get the best sunscreen money could buy.
And because he knew that if he tried to just give them both the sunscreen tubes, they would never use it.
So, he would have to show up in person and make sure they put it on, and after that, he would make sure to call daily to double check on them putting it on.
His plans of teasing Asher a little bit had to be thrown out the window because after dinner, he was hoarding both miserable men to his room.
"Sit," He tossed at them, gesturing to the couches.
Their burns were light, but it brought discomfort regardless, and if they had to go out for whatever reason again the next day, it would get worse.
He should have some aloe vera gel, that should help things along and soothe the burn.
Fortunately, he was able to find a sizable tube of it, he made his way back to the bedroom with the gel in tow - he had to get it from the closet.
"Alright, hands out." He ordered, "This should help your burns feel better."
They immediately complied, their huge bodies shoved side by side in a single couch made the couch look smaller than it was.
Caspian was happy they were being so agreeable, he poured out a generous amount on their hands.
"Make sure to apply it on every part of your face that hurts," He said as he walked off to return the tube.
He didn’t get halfway through the bedroom before a curse of pain got to him. Caspian hurried back in worry, starting to panic that one of them had an allergy to aloe vera.
And of course, it was his mate... Asher had his hands over his face, his rings absent for the time being.
"Asher? What’s wrong? Does it sting?"
The Alpha took his hands away to reveal watery eyes, "Yeah, it does."
Caspian’s worries mounted until the realization hit, "Did you... did you put it in your eyes?"
"My eyelids are burnt too..."
"That’s why you should take up wearing sunglasses." Jael chipped in.
"Shut it." Asher tossed back harmlessly.
"Come on, let’s go wash it out." Caspian inserted himself in the conversation, taking Asher’s hand to help him up.
"And Jael don’t put them in your eyes too," He cautioned at the second-in-command of a Mafia House as he helped the ’Mafia King’ to the bathroom.
Honestly, when it came to taking care of themselves, they were both terrible at it.
Helping Asher to wash the gel out of his eyes went smoothly, they Alpha followed orders swimmingly, although he had to be in a lot of discomfort.
"Does it feel better?" He asked, holding Asher’s face.
All of the aloe vera gel had washed off but he would make sure he applied another coating, personally this time because he didn’t trust Asher not to put it somewhere dangerous.
"The water in my eyes stings," He complained.
Caspian had to get on his tiptoes and have Asher bend a bit to be able to press a loving kiss to his mating mark.
"It’ll stop soon, just come lay dow..."
His reassurances were interrupted by Jael stumbling into the bathroom, the Beta wore a loud grimace, his curses muffled because he was gritting his teeth.
Caspian really wasn’t as surprised about this as he should be, sighing as he gently toweled Asher’s face and neck.
"Lips were sunburnt," Jael managed to get out.
Asher didn’t even bother with a witty comeback, he just snickered, a sound that was muffled by Caspian covering his face with the towel.
"Right, there’s a spare toothbrush in that cabinet," Caspian pointed as he spoke. "You might need to brush a couple of times to get the taste out."
This experience just showed Caspian that he really couldn’t let them handle the sunscreen themselves, at least not for the first time.
Jael did managed to get the taste out quite fast because he was out of the bathroom in no time, he still had a look of distaste on his face, but he would live.
"Wait a moment," Caspian stopped him, certain that not only did he not apply the gel properly, but brushing his teeth meant that he wiped off the little he managed to get on.
So, he stopped Jael to gently pat on some more aloe vera gel on his skin, "Try not to lick it again," He made sure to say as he sent the Beta off to his room.
While Jael was brushing out the taste of the aloe vera gel, he had already gently massaged the gel into Asher’s face, the Alpha slightly dozing on the bed.
He doubted Asher could see enough to notice if he wore anything special to bed, so he just joined his mate in bed, content to lay by his side.
Caspian woke up the next morning when Asher gave him a goodbye kiss, although he was groggy, he immediately remembered to ask after him.
"How does your face feel? Does it still sting as bad?"
"No," Asher murmured, pressing another kiss to his for head. "I’m fine now, go back to sleep."
Caspian did as he was told, the morning was easily the coolest time of the day, so it was easy to.
He was out of bed a few hours later and already busy, the time he used to sleep in until noon long past.
He made arrangements to leave after breakfast, it would be the first time he would be leaving the mansion alone in a while.
He usually went out with his mate, and one time or two with Jael.
Caspian rang up his bodyguards, he would need to stop by a store to buy the biggest tub of sunscreen he could get his hands on.
The two men were over in no time, looking unchanged even though they hadn’t had a reason to see for almost a month now.
