Carrying a Jurassic on me Chapter 816

Setting out from the Provincial City and heading due east for a little over six hundred kilometers brought Yan Fei to the ocean. If he continued to the east-southeast for another nine hundred kilometers, he’d reach his destination.

Yan Fei didn’t need to look to know he was nearly at the seaside when he felt the change in the air currents around him.

The sea here differed from the one in the dinosaur world, where the shore was populated by monsters instead of people, and also by the various sizes of ships on the sea surface. Of course, Yan Fei was too lazy to look; it had gotten dark, and he could hardly make anything out.

Traveling from west to east, it got dark earlier and earlier. Needless to say, it was definitely getting darker earlier in Japan. So Yan Fei had never intended to waste time on the road, uninterested in any scenery, flying straight to his predetermined destination in Aipao City without stopping.

Those who understand Japan know that it’s quite an abnormal country. Not only does the map look abnormal, so are its people, from their bodies to their souls. Of course, development is also abnormal, and although agriculture is a basic industry, it accounts for a very small proportion of the overall economy in that country.

A small proportion didn’t mean it wasn’t important; after all, it was the foundation. In fact, agriculture in Japan was fairly developed, taking up a small portion purely because other industries were more developed, such as the quite advanced light industry and the film and television industry that everyone knew about after the popularization of computers, among others.

In Japan’s agricultural sector, the livestock industry accounted for fifty percent of agriculture as a whole, with cattle raising being the main component. In the years leading up to Hong Kong’s handover, Japan had a cattle inventory that peaked at over five million, including several world-renowned Japanese beef cattle brands.

Of course, these five million cattle were divided into dairy and beef cattle. Focusing on beef cattle, the breeding was mainly on the southernmost island of the country, which was precisely where Yan Fei’s target Aipao City was located.

At this point, Yan Fei had no idea how many cattle were in the place he was headed to. On this small island, which was less than forty thousand square kilometers in area, just the beef cattle inventory exceeded one million heads.

This posed a big and unexpected problem for Yan Fei. He thought he knew the name of the company where Chai Qi worked, the city it was located in, and that it was quite a large company, so he assumed he would easily find the company’s cattle farm—unfortunately, that was a complete illusion.

When Yan Fei set out, it was just past six in the evening, and by a little after nine, he had arrived at his destination exactly as he had planned.

He didn’t need to ask for directions; having learned Japanese, he understood the signs perfectly—it was beautiful.

Finding the city made things easier.

There was plenty of time, no need to rush.

Yan Fei was very calm, taking a loop above the city and looking around everywhere.

It was quite bustling. The brightly lit city was just starting its nightlife, which was in full swing. He also saw two thugs robbing someone in a small alley, and that wasn’t all; on another street, he saw two groups of people about to fight, yelling and grabbing weapons.

Yan Fei watched with interest for a while, sighing to himself how poor the security was in this place, how the glitz and glamour hid the filth that was everywhere—it really was all façade, with nothing but pig dung inside...

He felt a slight regret that the city hadn’t been affected by nuclear weapon bombardment. How could it look so bustling when it should have been bombed? There was no trace of any bombardment at all...

But now wasn’t the time to worry about that. The company where the deceased Chai Qi worked was not here; he still had to fly roughly another hundred kilometers eastward. In reality, his destination was on the eastern side of the island, another city by the sea.

In fact, before he even reached his real destination, Yan Fei realized he might have been a bit naive in his thinking.

He originally thought that once he reached the city, all that was left would be to look around for cattle farms nearby—that was Yan Fei’s illusion. He had checked the map, and the entire island where Aipao City was situated wasn’t even one and a half times the size of Wan City. Such a small place would take less than an hour and a half to circle by flying.

Especially since the final city he was headed to was only a part of the island.

However, on the hundred-plus-kilometer journey to his destination, he discovered that there were too many cattle farms in the area. Not only were there countless large breeding farms, but there were also a great number of small-scale breeders.

Yan Fei now realized he may have oversimplified the task.

And he regretted the time he wasted in Aipao City; it was almost eleven at night—he had lost over an hour in Aipao City.

With that thought, he reached his final destination, and upon confirming the name of the city which looked even more bustling than Aipao City, he no longer ventured into the hustle—instead, he went straight to look for a cattle farm!

He had only a rough idea about this place, and that was from when he had been learning Japanese. To be specific about the exact details, especially in beef cattle farming, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say he knew nothing; after all, the materials for learning Japanese did not particularly include detailed introductions about how many cattle were raised in this place.

So he had no idea that the area beneath him was one of Japan’s famous Japanese beef production areas. Furthermore, just over a hundred kilometers from this spot was one of the only two preserved areas for native Japanese cattle breeds.
