Catastrophe Containment Facility Chapter 234

Heng An was sound asleep when suddenly, his ears perked up and the hair on his body stood on end.

He immediately opened his eyes and sat up, only to discover a horrifying dark figure standing before him!

The figure was clad in a voluminous black robe, its face obscured, but it was wreathed in black mist, clearly no benign entity.

Seeing Wen Wen, however, made Heng An relax.

Chains that suppressed his supernatural power were clamped onto him; there was no use being tense, as he was nothing more than a lamb to the slaughter.

"Hmm... Coming over to take a proper look, I’ve realized your eyes really are bright," Wen Wen said with a gentle smile, hoping to leave a good impression on Heng An.

Yet he wasn’t spouting nonsense, for Heng An’s eyes emitted a faint blue glow, resembling the pupils of wild beasts in the night.

"How come that old hag didn’t come today? Has she finally succumbed to her perpetual period?" Heng An lay back down and said with slight arrogance.

In such an environment, spitting words was Heng An’s motivation to keep going; otherwise, even if he hadn’t succumbed over these four months, he would have gone mad.

"I don’t know who you’re referring to as an old hag, but I represent the Catastrophe Containment Facility, and I’m here to invite you to join us."

Heng An burst out laughing and said, "Catastrophe Containment Facility... You think by changing the name, I’d agree to join you?"

Wen Wen shook his head and said, "You may have misunderstood. I’m not a person from the Profane Blood, I’m the one who’s going to rescue you."

Heng An’s eyes brightened for a moment, like two little bulbs, but then dimmed again.

"I’m not a three-year-old child. Whatever you say, I won’t believe it. The moment I get a chance to get out, I will kill you all!"

Wen Wen was not discouraged and continued, "The purpose of the Catastrophe Containment Facility is to discover threats, control threats, contain threats. In a certain sense, it’s quite similar to the Hunter Association."

Upon hearing Hunter Association, Heng An felt somewhat interested; he’d always wanted to become a Demon Hunter.

But for an ordinary person without powers, the Hunter Association was, in many ways, nonexistent, which was why Heng An had found nothing before.

"Look at your grand honor— you don’t look like a good person at all. Moreover, if you were really what you claim to be, would they have let you come in?"

Raising doubts meant that Heng An was actually moved, but he wasn’t sure if what Wen Wen had said was true.

"In fact, I haven’t entered, and you might want to look behind you."

Heng An turned his head and was momentarily stunned; he actually saw his own body.

Almost instantly, he realized he was in a special state, and it was this very state that had allowed this person to meet him.

Wen Wen didn’t say much more, as talking wouldn’t make Heng An let down his guard.

For this young man who had persisted for more than four months, any persuasion was meaningless, for anything here could be a conspiracy.

"When I rescue you, I will come to sign a contract with you. I hope you won’t refuse me then."

Only by truly setting him free could Wen Wen recruit him for the Facility.

Wen Wen came here today actually just to say hello in advance, to avoid any denial when he finally rescued him.

Then Wen Wen left Heng An’s cell and began to wander around the place.

Investigating the internal situation in this special state was another of Wen Wen’s goals.

In this state, Wen Wen couldn’t stray too far from Heng An, but he could still observe some things.

Firstly, a person in iron armor sat outside the dungeon. Getting closer, Wen Wen discovered beneath the armor was a furry face.

It was unexpectedly a kind of monster!

Wen Wen roughly estimated that it possessed the strength comparable to a Calamity Level, set here to guard Heng An.

After bypassing this monster, Wen Wen began to wander around the vicinity of the cells for a while.

Within his roaming boundaries, Wen Wen actually encountered three superpower users of the Assimilation Realm, and although they were all lower-ranked like Mr. L, they were not to be underestimated.

In addition to these, there were quite a number of monsters and superpower users below the Assimilation Realm.

However, this did not exceed Wen Wen’s expectations; based on the intelligence he had, without such power, it could hardly be considered a subdivision of Profane Blood.

Profane Blood was the most rampant among all the secret organizations of the Federation, openly challenging the Hunters Association multiple times.

Such audacity naturally stemmed from their formidable strength, making them a major concern for the Hunters Association, with branches in each major district.

Each division in the major districts would have at least one strong individual in the Assimilation Realm True Sequence in charge.

Several upper and middle sequence strong individuals, and at least dozens of Morning Energy Practitioners in the Assimilation Lower Sequence.

The outstanding superpower users of the Assimilation Lower Sequence were named after the twenty-six letters of the alphabet.

For example, Mr. A, Mrs. B, C Demon Yao, and the like.

The aforementioned information was almost public knowledge, but the true extent of Profane Blood’s secret influence was not clear to anyone.

However, most members of Profane Blood were stirring things up outside, so the remaining strength wouldn’t be excessively overwhelming.

Then, considering that the dungeon was roughly ten meters underground, Wen Wen realized that rescuing people would take some effort.

After gathering the basic information, Wen Wen returned to his own body.

"Good, now everything is in place, except for how to file the complaint," he thought.

Wen Wen certainly had no intention of rescuing anyone himself; that would be suicide, so he would definitely have to file a complaint, then take advantage of the chaos to rescue people, but how he went about complaining was crucial.

He definitely could not act as he did back in Furong River City, simply calling Lin Zheyuan, and then having Lin Zheyuan rush over and wipe out Profane Blood’s people.

That was completely unrealistic – the one getting wiped out would be Lin Zheyuan.

Wen Wen couldn’t inform the Hunters Association of Yanling City either, for all he knew they could have eyes from Profane Blood amongst them, and he didn’t trust any high-level members of the Hunters Association of Dongshan Province.

A supernatural group strong enough to challenge the Hunters Association of Dongshan Province and quietly infiltrating Dongshan Province made it quite possible for the association’s top brass to be compromised.

As a detective, Wen Wen instinctively doubted anyone who might be related to Profane Blood, so if he were to make a complaint, it had to be foolproof.

Upon this thought, Wen Wen accessed the Demon Hunter website and found the contact number for reporting incidents to the Demon Hunter Headquarters of the Capital District.

If even the Capital District headquarters were compromised, Wen Wen would have nothing left to say.

However, this number was generally meant for Rangers only, and ordinary Demon Hunters had to go through the local Hunters Association to report cases; Wen Wen, as an ordinary Demon Hunter, couldn’t get through at all.

Therefore, Wen Wen needed someone else’s help.

And that person was Ding Mingguang!

"Hey, Mingguang... has your monkey recovered?"

Ding Mingguang, who was drinking goji berry water, spat it out and said, "I’ve told you a hundred times, it’s Programmer Ape, not monkey!"

Then Ding Mingguang’s expression turned sleazy, and he winked at Wen Wen, saying, "Have you checked out those websites I gave you before?"

Wen Wen coughed awkwardly; as for those websites, he could ask Ding Mingguang for the links, or sneak a peek by himself, but discussing it over the phone still felt a bit embarrassing.

"Let’s not talk about that for now; I need you to help me connect a call, and encrypt it for me!"
