Catastrophe Containment Facility Chapter 771

Wen Wen curled his lip and arrived at the rooftop of a nearby building.

He had been quite happy, but now his good mood was ruined by that voice.

Even if Wen Wen wanted to find the source of the voice, without a location, he had no idea where to start looking.

The world is so big, just saying "come find me," even an immortal couldn’t do it.

However, all of Wen Wen’s dissatisfaction vanished the moment he saw that black airplane.

The plane was only eight meters long in total, with folded wings. At first glance, it looked completely black, but the sunlight made it shine with rainbow-like hues.

Wen Wen stroked his chin and said, "Hmm, multicolored black, meets my requirements."

Under the folded wings on both sides hung three missiles each. Each missile was a high-grade modified version, far more thrilling than regular cloud bombs. If it hit, even a Disaster Intermediate Sequence monster wouldn’t get off easy.

On the front lower sides of the fuselage were two cannons, each of larger caliber than a Buddha Gatling. He just didn’t know how powerful they were.

Also, the plane was very light overall. Even if it landed on the rooftop of an ordinary residential building, it wouldn’t make too much noise. This could be considered black technology from the US and Canada District.

Just the jet itself was worth as much as a Disaster Level monster; otherwise, it wouldn’t have almost drained Wen Wen’s Demon Hunting Coins.

The combat capability of the jet itself was only marginally better than nothing for the current Wen Wen, but that didn’t stop him from truly liking it, deep in his heart.

What boy hadn’t dreamed of owning his own plane?

"Gagagaga, those tycoons who show off their private planes everywhere are just pitiful. Do they have private fighter jets?"

Wen Wen crawled on the jet like a spider, making odd noises as he spoke, leaving the US and Canada District pilot who had delivered the jet feeling embarrassed.

"Back when I was a detective, if I’d had this thing, I would’ve been the flashiest cub in the detective realm!"

If Wen Wen were an ordinary detective piloting such a jet around recklessly, the most likely outcome would’ve been getting shot down by a missile while flying...

After he had crawled through every nook and cranny of the plane, Wen Wen came down and completed the handover with the pilot from the US and Canada District.

This pilot wouldn’t be leaving just yet, as he was supposed to wait until he had taught Wen Wen how to fly the plane before he could depart.

"You don’t need to teach me, I don’t need to know how to fly it, I just need to have it. You’re going to teach it, my driver."

Wen Wen yanked Three Cubs off his neck and said fiercely, "Learn how to operate this thing in a day, or else I’ll make you drink hot pot seasoning."

Then Wen Wen tossed Three Cubs at the pilot’s feet, jumped down from the rooftop, and left both the pilot and Three Cubs looking baffled.

Three Cubs sighed with an almost human-like air. Why did he, a snake, have to live a life more exhausting than that of humans?

It swatted the pilot with its tail and then slithered into the cockpit.

The pilot scratched his head and followed into the cockpit as well. He could never have dreamed that he would be teaching a snake how to fly a plane.

Having left Three Cubs and the jet behind, Wen Wen began his daily training. He had recently reached a new realm of strength and needed to practice a lot to master his newfound power.

After two hours of practice, Wen Wen went out and caught a small monster to experiment with runes for himself.

Wen Wen’s mastery of the Dao of Runes had grown increasingly profound. Abilities of some lesser monsters, such as flame, acid, and mind control, could now be achieved solely through the use of runes, without even the need for the Sanctuary’s ring.

As his strength grew, the number of abilities that Wen Wen could control himself also increased, and his reliance on the Sanctuary began to diminish bit by bit.

After several hours of slightly cruel experiments, the sky had grown dark. Wen Wen checked the time and then turned on his computer to start the daily routine of judgements via video.

Unlike usual, the ’Arbiter’ did not hide this time but stood openly in the center of the screen.

However, he still wore a hood over his head and a mask over his face, which obscured his features.

Another difference was that there were no criminals awaiting judgement.

The Arbiter cleared his throat lightly, looking somewhat unwell.

"The criminal we are to judge this time, I have not yet caught. If you determine that he deserves death, I will apprehend him. If you think he does not deserve death, then I won’t bother him," he said.

The Arbiter took out a piece of paper and began softly reading out the person’s crimes:

"This person’s name is Ning Zhewan, twenty-seven years old. On the surface, he is a tutor at a cram school, but in reality, that is just a cover. He has been gathering information in secret to carry out a series of murders."

"He has killed eight people, all staged to look like accidental deaths."

"Among these eight are the parents of students, the accountant and principal of the cram school, and seemingly unrelated people like a bookstore owner, a building materials store owner..."

"Over three years, he carried out these murders, and besides me, no one else has discovered that these people were killed by him."

The Arbiter then presented several photos and some text materials as evidence.

Wen Wen, out of habit, checked through his own channels and raised his eyebrows in slight surprise.

The eight victims shown by the Arbiter had indeed died one after another over three years, and Ning Zhewan was indeed a teacher at an extracurricular cram school. However, from the information Wen Wen found, there were no apparent connections.

This was very different from the previous criminals executed by the Arbiter, who often had concrete evidence against them. This time, it was just one side of the Arbiter’s story.

"The reason I haven’t troubled him is that his motive is revenge," the Arbiter continued.

"Ning Zhewan grew up in an orphanage, which supported him until he finished high school. After graduating with outstanding grades, he was admitted to a university with a full scholarship, and his contact with the orphanage gradually diminished."

"When Ning Zhewan was twenty-one, an earthquake struck suddenly, the orphanage collapsed, and the director along with more than a dozen children died inside."

"Initially, Ning Zhewan thought it was just an accident, but after he graduated and returned, he discovered by accident that only the orphanage had collapsed in the vicinity."

"Further investigation revealed that the orphanage had been built with substandard materials, even cutting corners grossly, which was the fundamental cause of the tragedy."

"Therefore, Ning Zhewan began to seek revenge against those who had been responsible for building the orphanage."

"It had been over twenty years since the orphanage was constructed, and those people no longer worked in the construction industry, but Ning Zhewan found each one of them."

The Arbiter paused and said, "Murdering for revenge is something I don’t detest."

"But among the eight people he killed, three were innocent, simply caught up in his anger."

"So, it’s up to you to decide Ning Zhewan’s fate."
