Mo Roulan looked at Cheng Yang and then behind Cheng Yang at the pair of blue eyes that were settled at her as if looking forward to hear her answer to what Cheng Yang had asked.
Guilt crawled unknowingly to a corner of her heart and she almost opened her mouth to say ’no’ but stopped herself to do so.
Another part of her heart and mind told her that what she was doing was wrong...very wrong.
Her past should not affect her present. She had feelings for He Jian in the past but she should not feel guilty in present when she was trying to work it out with Cheng Yang.
It was her own idea because she wanted to get free of that unrequited love that had made her home in her heart since so many years.
It was unfair to Cheng Yang if she slapped her decisions on his face that would be purely based on He Jian’s presence in her life. Like right now, she should not refuse just because He Jian was present here. Would the latter refuse to wear the engagement ring from Shen Yiling if she would attend his engagement party?
Definitely, not so. Mo Roulan thought bitterly.
That’s why she looked at Cheng Yang and then said softly in almost a whisper
"Yes."
And Cheng Yang didn’t waste even a second in smooching her cheek with a long kiss this time unlike one from the morning.
Her eyes unconsciously went to look at the same spot but no one was standing there anymore...as if he left from there the moment she had said ’yes’.
Cheng Yang pulled away.
And Mo Roulan decided to leave. However, she had just turned around when Cheng Yang’s voice was heard again.
"Can I come with you, Roulan? If you don’t mind, of course?"
Mo Roulan turned around to look at Cheng Yang with blank eyes. Were not they going too fast? She wondered inside her heart.
She was not ready to tell her family anything until she herself was not sure. And she also didn’t know whether her mother would be in favor of her having a relationship. She was about to get eighteen but she was not eighteen yet.
So she told Cheng Yang honestly
"My family...Cheng Yang...I don’t want them to know about us anything yet."
Cheng Yang’s eyes surely flickered with surprise and then dimmed slightly but he immediately composed his expression...so immediately that Mo Roulan never caught it.
He was smiling brightly again as he stepped forward and held her hand as he said gently.
"What are you thinking? I just wanted to visit your apartment and see Mo Chen."
Mo Roulan raised her eyebrows in realization and felt a little embarrassed for overthinking. Her red cheeks expressed her embarrassment and Cheng Yang chuckled heartily. The little bit of sadness suddenly vanished away.
He had actually never meant that. However, it still saddened him slightly that Mo Roulan didn’t want to tell her family about them yet.
He had already told his mother that he and Mo Roulan were dating and as he had expected, his mother was very happy when she came to know of this.
In fact, she wanted him to bring Mo Roulan to Cheng Mansion on one of these days but Cheng Yang refuse. He thought that for Mo Roulan, it might be too fast.
He had feelings for her...so strong that if she asked him to marry her as soon as they come to the age, then he would promise to do so. But she had genuinely told him that she didn’t have feelings for him ...yet.
Cheng Yang emphasized silently inside his heart. He couldn’t wait for the day when she would feel the same for him.
Even now, he didn’t wish to leave her and wanted to stay with her all the time. He wondered what will become of him then.
Helplessness and pampering unconsciously flashed through his eyes and he said to Mo Roulan who still looked embarrassed.
"If you don’t want me to go and see Mo Chen, then it’s alright."
Saying this, he was about to take his hand back when Mo Roulan tightened her hold on it. Clearing her throat awkwardly, she said to him
"You can. Let’s go."
Cheng Yang smiled and both of them walked to the elevator hand in hand.

Mo Chen was not in the living room like yesterday.
As she had expected, he was studying inside his room. Mo Roulan stood at the door of her brother’s room. He was consumed in his books that perhaps he didn’t even know that she was standing at the door of his room.
What had happened to him?
She didn’t know what she should do to bring her brother back. He was studying all the time. Should she be happy? How could she be when she knew that it was just his way to keep his mind away from the things that perhaps still bothered him a lot!
"What are you thinking?"
Cheng Yang who stood silently beside Mo Roulan until now finally asked. He was confused as to why they were standing outside the room and not going inside.
Mo Roulan came out of her trance when she heard Cheng Yang’s question. She shook her head as she moved away from the door.
"He is studying."
She said as she started to move towards the kitchen. Cheng Yang followed her with a confused face and asked
"What is wrong with that?"
Mo Roulan took out a water bottle from the refrigerator and poured some into a glass. She forwarded the glass to Cheng Yang.
However, instead of taking the glass from her hand, Cheng Yang tucked the strands of hair that were falling on her face behind her ear.
Then he cupped her cheeks with his palms as he stepped forward and asked her softly
"What are you worried about? Tell me, maybe I can help you."
Mo Roulan sighed as she closed her eyes. It felt nice to be cared by someone...especially when she could feel that Cheng Yang’s concern was genuine.
"I doubt that Mo Chen is suffering from depression."
