Mo Roulan was actually shocked by Mrs. Cheng’s question. It took her a few moments to respond to her question.
"No!"
However, when she saw that Mrs Cheng didn’t seem to believe her, she felt slightly helpless. She had not known that Cheng Yang had told his family about their relationship. However, she didn’t blame him for this. Instead, she fet more guilty on coming to know of this because it only represented just how serious he was about their realtionship.
Mo Roulan opened and closed her mouth as she tried to say something to Mrs Cheng that could make the latter believe that the reason behind their break up was completely different from what Mrs. Cheng thinks.
There was a long silence between them before Mo Roulan finally decided to say tha truth.
"I am confused regarding my feelings."
Mrs. Cheng looked at Mo Roulan when she heard her words. Her face was still expressionless while Mo Roulan continued.
"I didn’t feel right when Cheng Yang ...when he and I got closer. It felt wrong."
Mo Roulan didn’t know what she was saying. She just said what she actually felt because she didn’t want Mrs. Cheng to feel that there was such a low reason of the break up between her and Cheng Yang.
"Mrs. Cheng, Cheng Yang is a very nice boy. I think that he deserves much more than me. He liked me, he cared for me but I felt as if I was doing wrong to him because I knew that I couldn’t give him the same care and love. He didn’t deserve that."
Mo Roulan went silent after finishing her words.
She couldn’t say anything more to explain herself.
Mo Roulan thought that it was better to leave. However, when she was about to turn around, Mrs. Cheng said suddenly.
"I can understand."
Startled by her words, Mo Roulan looked at Mrs. Cheng.
Mrs. Cheng was now smiling kindly. The middle aged woman stood up from the sofa she was seated on and suddenly put her hand on Mo Roulan’s hand making Mo Roulan shocked.
"I can understand you, Mo Roulan. At some point of my life, I have gone through the same phase."
As if remembering something., Mrs. Cheng’s eyes went teary and she whispered
"It had taken me a whole year to understand my feelings for Cheng Yang’s father. He was too persistent. To run away from him, I tried to date others only to feel confused after a few months and then have a break up."
Mo Roulan silently heard what Mrs. Cheng said as she didn’t know what she should say.
Mrs. Cheng now looked relieved. She had been angry because she thought that the reason behind Mo Roulan breaking up with her son was something else.
"You are still better than me. You at least broken up earlier than I did."
Mrs. Cheng sighed as she said.
However, Mo Roulan didn’t feel the same.
"No. I was wrong."
She said honestly.
"I thought that having a relationship will clear everything. I ...I feel like I used Cheng Yang selfishly."
Mrs. Cheng looked at Mo Roulan who looked ashamed and couldn’t help but say
"It is normal. It is very normal to feel confused at this stage, Mo Roulan. In fact, I am happy that you broke up with Cheng Yang early because the damage an year later or much later would have been worse and perhaps then I would not have ever forgiven you."
Mo Roulan swallowed when she heard Mrs. Cheng’s words and lowered her head. Mrs. Cheng continued
"However, I know my son. He will overcome this. He will surely do. And he will also have a life partner that would make his life happier. I will make sure of that."
Mrs. Cheng said confidently.
Mo Roulan wished that it would really happen. She would feel only happy for Cheng Yang if that really happened.
"I should leave now."
She said and Mrs. Cheng nodded her head before she said
"Running away is never a solution, Mo Roulan. Face it and then try to find some solution. Maybe you are still unable to understand where you happiness and heart truly lies."
The words left Mo Roulan startled again.

She pondered on Mrs. Cheng’s words as she turned around and walked towards the entrance.
Running away...was she not doing the same?
However, what else could she do when the person in front of her was He Jian?
Could she really face him and then ask him what was wrong with him suddenly? He who never accepted her feelings in the past life was suddenly different in this life. But she couldn’t do that as well.
Because He Jian didn’t know anything she knew about.
So how could she not feel confused and run away?
Mo Roulan was lost in her thoughts as she went out of Cheng Mansion. She only came out of her trance when she suddenly saw a figure in front of her.
Mo Roulan’s eyes flickered with surprsie when she saw the figure and she couldn’t help but ask
"What are you doing here?"
He Jian looked at the girl in front of him with narrowed eyes.
"That’s something that I should ask you, Lanlan."
He said coldly.
After that, he held her hand and then dragged her towards the car that was standing a step away.
Startled by his actions, Mo Roulan couldn’t help but called out to him
"Mr. He, what are you doing?"
However, ignoring her call. He Jian continued walking. He opened the door of the car and said
"Get inside the car."
Mo Roulan frowned at his tone and wanted to oppose him. However, when she heard him say
"Lanlan, get inside."
Mo Roulan instantly got inside the car.
The next moment, she frowned at her own action because she felt she was too coward. However, he was too strict just now.
She raised her head as she saw the partition raising and separating the front seat and rear seat.
At this moment, He Jian got inside the car from the other side.
Mo Roulan looked at him with a frown on her forehad and was about to say something when He Jian suddenly held her face and kissed her without any delay.
