Lin Qianru reached back the apartment in a daze.
She only came out of her thoughts when she stepped inside the apartment and found that it was only her son inside.
"Where is Roulan?"
She asked with a frown on her forehead.
"Jiejie didn’t come yet, Mom."
Mo Chen said to his mother as he observed her calmly. He didn’t know why but he felt as if his mother had gone very thin and her face looked pale.
Mo Chen frowned.
Had his mother been working very hard?
It was for them his mother had to work hard so much. These days, Mo Chen had been thinking that perhaps he could also start something which would earn him some money and he would be able to help his mother and sister.
Mo Chen came out of his thoughts when he heard his mother
"She didn’t come back yet?"
His mother looked worried and she was calling his Jiejie. Mo Chen sighed.
He was actually not much worried about his Jiejie. It was because he trusted Brother Jian. Brother Jian would never let anything wrong happen to his Jiejie.
"Hello Roulan, where are you?"
Lin Qianru asked her daughter as soon as the call connected.
"Hospital?"
Mo Chen stilled when he heard the word from his mother’s mouth.
"How is Youlin now?"
It was only then he relaxed as he understood that it was about his Jiejie’s friend.
"Is Jian there with you?"
Lin Qianru asked. She seemed relaxed when she heard that her daughter was not alone.
"Okay, stay there. But have something."
After this, she cut the call.
Lin Qianru sighed and walked towards the kitchen. However, she was shocked when she saw that her son had already walked away and was now working inside the kitchen.
"Chenchen, what are you doing?"
She asked in a panicked voice as she took the knife from her son’s hands.
Mo Chen looked at his worried mother and tried to comfort her.
"Mom, I am just preparing the dinner. You go and rest. I will prepare it and call you when it is ready."
Lin Qianru’s eyes flashed with amusement when she heard her son’s words.
"Do you even know how to cook?"
She asked in a teasing voice.
However, who had thought that her son would nod his head seriously and say
"Yes, Mom. You are tired. I will make a good meal for you."
Lin Qianru’s heart was warm when she heard this. She forgot all her exhaustion and hugged her in tightly in her arms.
"Mom is not tired."
She whispered softly as she blinked trying to control her tears.
The only reason because of which Lin Qianru didn’t regret her marriage was her children. Her children were so sensible and lovable that she wished that she would have such children in every life.
Mo Chen was startled by the sudden hug but when he composed himself he patted his mother’s back gently and said in a firm voice.
"When Chenchen will grow up, Chenchen will buy a huge house for Mother and Jiejie. Then Mother will only rest and Jiejie...Jiejie can do anything she wish to do."
The emotions that Lin Qinaru was trying to control came roaring back again. Her eyes went blurry and she hugged her son tightly fearing that he would move away and see her tears.
She believed her son. If a good opportunity, both of her children were outstanding.
Unfortunately, she might not stay alive to create those opportunities for them and see them progressing.
It was at that moment, Chi Rong’s words flashed in her mind.
’If you marry me...your children will be my children."
Many thoughts went across Lin Qianru’s mind but she was unable to decide which was right or which was wrong.

Shen Youlin woke up around midnight.
It took her eyes a few moments to adjust to the light inside the room and then she felt a pain in her head.
She frowned and looked around in confusion. Her eyes stilled on Mo Roulan who was sleeping on the chair beside the bed.
She was in the hospital.
Everything that had happened since morning flashed in Shen Youlin’s mind and her eyes went hollow.
Did Roulan also knew everything?
Her throat was clogged as she wondered if she should run away.
However, she had been just thinking this when a voice fell in her ears.
"Youlin..."
Shen Youlin stilled as she recognized the familiar voice.
It was Shen Weisheng.
’He must be aware as well.’
Shen Weisheng had gone to have some water while He Jian had gone out to take the dinner from the butler who was here.
They didn’t have anything so He Jian asked the chef at He Mansion to prepare some dinner.
Hence, it was only Mo Roulan inside the room.
Mo Roulan woke up when she heard Shen Weisheng’s voice. Instantly, she looked toward the bed
"Youlin..."
She called out in surprise when she saw that Shen Youlin was awake. However, when she was about to touch Shen Youlin’s hand, the latter moved it away silently.
Mo Roulan froze and looked at Shen Youlin in confusion.
Shen Weisheng noticed all this and walked to the other side where Shen Youlin was looking. However, Shen Youlin instantly closed her eyes.
She didn’t want to look at them and see the disgust they had for her.
She won’t be able to take it.
A hand caressed her hair suddenly and Shen Youlin flinched.
"It’s alright, Youlin. Brother is here. Brother is always here, Youlin. You are still my sister"
It was Shen Weisheng’s voice. His gentle voice and what he said stirred Shen Youlin’s heart.
She suddenly opened her eyes and looked at Shen Weisheng.
Indeed, his eyes didn’t have any disgust for her. There was nothing but concern and affection for her.
Tears suddenly streamed down her eyes and her lips quivered.
Shen Weisheng was startled when he saw this and was a lack of what to do.
He could only pat her head gently and say again and again
"It’s alright. Don’t cry. Brother has settled everything for you. Don’t worry about anything."
Mo Roulan stood silently as she watched the awkward Shen Weisheng pacifying his sister.
A small smile made its way onto her lips. She was actually happy for her friend.
Perhaps Shen Youlin didn’t even need her.
