Mo Roulan reached the office. It was a huge building.
The strange thing was that everyone seemed to be in hurry in the office today. This was not something she had witnessed when she had come to give her interview.
On reaching the reception, she was told that she was supposed to go to the CEO office first. Hence, Mo Roulan used the elevator to go to the top floor.
When she stepped inside the elevator, she heard two girls talking to each other.
"I heard that the new boss is quite strict."
"Did you? I don’t even know if he is a male or a female. Ah...it would be a treat for eyes if we got a young and hot man as CEO."
The other girl said with dreamy eyes while Mo Roulan was surprised to hear their conversation.
Did the CEO change?
When she gave her interview tomorrow, the CEO was there. It was a middle-aged man and Mo Roulan had found him quite good.
She had thought that working under such a boss would be good.
As she thought this, a guess suddenly formed inside her heart. Why did the CEO change suddenly?
Could it be that...
Mo Roulan’s face went emotionless when she thought this and she clutched the file in her hands tightly.
If it really was what she was thinking then she didn’t want this job anymore.
The elevator reached the top floor and Mo Roulan stepped outside. She walked straight to the first office and the nameplate outside indicated that it belonged to CEO.
However, no name was written there.
She only found it more intentional.
With a colder face than before, Mo Roulan knocked on the door.
"Come in"
The voice suddenly reduced her doubts. Because it sounded too feminine to belong to the person she had been thinking of seeing here.
Composing herself, Mo Roulan pushed open the door and stepped inside.
She looked towards the chair but couldn’t see the person seated on it as the person had his back towards her.
So Mo Roulan decided to introduce herself.
"Good Morning, Ma’am. My name is Mo Roulan and I have been hired..."
Mo Roulan couldn’t complete her words as the chair spun around and she finally saw the woman seated on it.
From her white hair and slight wrinkles on her face, it could be said that she was an old woman. However, she looked quite beautiful and confident while sitting there for a moment. Mo Roulan lost her voice.
The woman’s eyes were filled with brightness as well as scrutiny as she looked at Mo Roulan.
Mo Roulan didn’t know what exactly she saw in her as she soon saw a wide smile on the old woman’s lips.
And then the next moment, she stood up from her chair and walked towards her, and then ...engulfed her in a hug.
Mo Roulan was confused as well as slightly overwhelmed because she could sense the sincere love and affection from the mere hug something which was strange because she was clearly meeting this woman for the first time in her life.
The hug lasted for whole five seconds. When the woman stepped back, she still had the same smile on her lips while looking at Mo Roulan.
But she stiffened when she sensed the confusion in Mo Roulan’s eyes.
It didn’t take her more than a moment to compose herself and she lied very well.
"Miss Mo, I saw your designs. They were awesome. I have become a huge fan of yours after seeing them."
Mo Roulan could swear that she had never blushed in her life when someone complimented her for the designs she made. Of course, she had received many compliments.
"Thank you."
She smiled awkwardly as she thanked the woman wondering what was wrong with her. However, seeing her embarrassed, the old woman looked happier and held her arm as if they were best friends.
"So tell me what would you like to have? You must be tired."
The question took Mo Roulan by surprise ...more surprise than before.
This... although she had worked as an intern only and not worked as an employee before, she was sure that no boss treated their employees with such care.
Perhaps the old woman sensed Mo Roulan’s shock, so she immediately patted her hand and said gently
"Miss Mo, I can see that you would be a great treasure for my company. I treat my treasures very well."
Mo Roulan smiled and nodded her head.
She looked towards the table and finally saw the nameplate which had CEO’s name.
Ji Zhen.
She didn’t seem to have heard any such name before. Was this woman new in the field of fashion and design?
Mo Roulan came out of her thoughts when she heard her new boss asking
"You didn’t tell me what would you like to have?"
"I don’t need anything, Ma’am."
Ji Zhen looked disappointed and Mo Roulan actually found it cute. She looked away and cleared her throat before she asked
"Ma’am, I wanted to ask about my job. Where am I supposed to work?"
Ji Zhen nodded her head immediately. Instead of sitting on the chair in the front which solely belonged to her, she sat beside Mo Roulan and said softly
"Make designs. That is your only job. If you need a team, tell me. If you want to do it alone, that is also fine."
That was quite easy and comfortable.
Mo Roulan nodded her head.
"Is there any timeline for submitting the designs?"
Ji Zhen was about to shake her head but then she seemed to realize that she was being too obvious so she said immediately.
"You have two weeks. Submit the designs to me after two weeks."
Mo Roulan nodded her head and left the office after a few moments.
As soon as she left, Ji Zhen heard her phone ringing and grinned on seeing who was calling her.
"Hello, baby Jian."
Oh, she loved to annoy her grandson. Hence, even though she knew that he didn’t like it when she called him like this, she still did otherwise.
She laughed when she heard only the silence on the other side.
