"You are not a burden, Mom."
Mo Roulan corrected He Mingzhu.
"Dad is concerned about you. He has got you after so long. He already regrets so he is protective of you."
He Mingzhu nodded her head silently.
"I know. But he still has his own life which he doesn’t remember. What will he do while staying with me all day at home? He better go to the office and help my son instead so that my son gets enough time to stay with his wife."
Mo Roulan chuckled and shook her head when she saw the playful smile on He Mingzhu’s lips.
He Mingzhu was very strong in her eyes. Even after whatever happened in her life, she could smile freely, she still had a pure heart.
Mo Roulan respected He Mingzhu for that.
"Mom, Dad is angry."
He Jian told his mother when he returned after making the call.
He Mingzhu merely shrugged her shoulders and walked to sit inside the car.
He Jian sighed when he saw her nonchalant behavior while Mo Roulan chuckled as she said
"Mom is so cool."
He Jian looked at her sternly when he heard her words and said more sternly
"Don’t learn from her."
Mo Roulan was perplexed but in the end, couldn’t control her laughter.
Shaking her head, she walked to the car.

He Zhuang was indeed angry. His cold eyes were on his wife as she stepped out of the car but he didn’t step forward to meet her.
Instead, he continued looking at her silently.
He Mingzhu ignored him royally.
Mo Roulan smiled when she saw her calmly going inside the house while He Zhuang looked perplexed by his wife’s actions. It seemed that he was expecting that He Mingzhu would coax him but nothing like that happened.
In the end, it was He Zhuang only who walked to his wife, held his arm, and then dragged her to their room.
He needed to have a good conversation with his wife.
Grandfather He smiled when he saw this and then asked Mo Roulan about Lin Qianru’s health.
No one asked Mo Roulan why they had lied before that Lin Qianru was dead and Mo Roulan was relieved because of this.
She went to her room to rest.

A week later, Lin Qianru and Chi Rong returned to China with everyone else.
Mo Roulan herself went to the airport with He Jian to pick them up. She smiled through her tears when she saw her mother walking on her legs. Although she had to hold Chi Rong’s hand and walked slowly, Lin Qianru could walk on her own feet now.
They went to Chi Mansion where they used to stay before. This time, Chi Rong’s uncle also accompanied them.
Mo Roulan liked him as well. He was kind-hearted elder and she used to visit him sometimes when they lived in New York.
That evening, Chi Rong told her that he had already filed for the divorce and the hearing was the next day only.
Mo Roulan merely nodded her head and then left with He Jian.

The next day, she didn’t go to court with her mother.
Only Chi Rong, Old Master Lin, and Old Lady Lin went with Lin Qianru.
But she did receive a few calls from an unknown number. When she picked up the call, she was surprised on hearing the voice from the other side.
"Xiao Rou, can we meet?"
Mo Roulan’s eyes went cold when she recognized the voice.
She didn’t give any answer and hung up.
The case lasted for a whole week.
But at the seventh day, Mo Roulan recieved the news from Chi Rong.
"It’s done. The divorce is legal now. The court admonished Wang Weimin for his actions. First he left your mother and now he suddenly wants her back. The court had strictly asked him to stay away from Qianru."
Mo Roulan was relieved.
She wanted nothing but peace for her family.

That evening, Mo Roulan woke up after sleeping for some time. She instantly saw He Jian seated on the bed scrolling through his phone.
Without asking, she knew that he must be working.
"Is there a lot of work pending?"
Mo Roulan said softly
He Jian immediately turned to look at her.
"So you asked? And I thought that my wife doesn’t care at all."
Mo Roulan shook her head and said honestly
"I just didn’t want to disturb you."
Hearing her words, he frowned as he pulled her in his arms. Putting her head on his lap, he stroked her hair and said
surprise-filled"You should be complaining and demanding your husband’s time instead of sending him away. That’s what wives are supposed to do."
Mo Roulan chuckled when ssurprise-filledhe heard these words and looked at him with surprise-filled eyes.
"How do you know all this?"
As much as she knew, He Jian had always been a cold and indifferent man. His attention was always on his work and she was sure that he had never read or seen the things which were required to know all this.
He Jian just shrugged in response.
Now he was not going to tell her that sometimes he watched a few movies to learn more about relationships.
Stroking her hair with a smile on his lips, he asked her softly
"Do you want to go out somewhere?"
"Where?"
Mo Roulan asked him curiously.
She also wanted to go out for some time. Seeing that she was interested, He Jian thought for a moment and smiled playfully as he said
"Let’s go on a date."
Mo Roulan smiled and nodded her head a moment later.
He was always this direct. Somewhere she liked it.
"I will go and get ready."
She said and then climbed down from the bed.
It was only when she was inside the bathroom, she realized how comfortable she had gotten with He Jian in such a short span of time.
It didn’t feel as if they had been husband and wife for only two months instead it felt as if they were always like this.
If only this could continue like this...she would not regret her choices.
Mo Roulan smiled and hoped for the best as she got ready.
