Peeking across Wuxing's shoulder, Scarlet's eyes widened.
A mature beauty gazed in their direction while sitting on a long sofa that magically appeared in front of them. Scarlet scanned the lady's body from the bottom to the top and almost lost her breath.
She was too sexy!
Red high-heels dangled rhythmically. Smooth long legs crossed together with tight red dress wrapping her curves all the way to her chest. Her lightly curled black hair fell gently on her shoulders while red eyes stared at them with interest.
"Who am I?" the lady asked back with a smirk. "I'm Lady Elizabeth."
Scarlet wasn't really scared but she still stood behind Wuxing, hugging into his back. She was happy he thought of defending her first.
"What do you want?" Wuxing questioned, not relaxing for even a moment.
"I'm interested in the girl behind you. Scarlet, right?" Lady Elizabeth replied, peeking to see her. "Don't worry, you can come out. I won't hurt you. If I wanted to, I would do so at the start as this is my space."
"Interested in me? I'm nothing special…" Scarlet muttered as she walked out on her own, standing next to Wuxing.
Lady Elizabeth took a closer look at her and nodded satisfied, "Good, you will do. Come over."
Scarlet wasn't really convinced yet but before she did anything, Wuxing extended his hand in front of her chest, stopping her from moving. Scarlet couldn't help but feel warm on her heart.
"You are a Spirit," Wuxing suddenly pointed out, causing Lady Elizabeth to smile.
"Good guess. I'm indeed a Spirit, just like your Devil Face. It just happened that my Ability Holder was stupid and died about thirty minutes ago. While I was searching for a new one, I recalled my dear friend Devil Face. He was looking for a Spirit who will join his team for the upcoming event. I couldn't help but come and check you out," Lady Elizabeth explained.
As if he sensed her gaze, Wuxing turned to Scarlet and nodded, confirming Lady Elizabeth's words, "My Spirit is indeed called Devil Face and the rest matches as well. We wanted to find a Spirit for you."
"For me…?" Scarlet questioned quietly, her heartbeat quickening.
"Of course. How could you join the Event with us if you didn't have your own Spirit? You are already a permanent part of our group. We wouldn't just leave you," Wuxing explained while rubbing her cheek and dropped his defenses, finally relaxing.
"You two are really cute. Anyway, I'm here and I'm ready to create my contract with you," Lady Elizabeth announced, finally standing up and walked in their direction. "I think your team is strong enough to let me win another Event. Just so you know, I'm very competitive and I won almost all Events so far. The only ones I didn't win were those I didn't participate in."
Lady Elizabeth reached the two of them and grasped Scarlet's hand, keeping up her gentle smile. "What do you think? Do you want me to join you so you can stay with your man forever? Without me, they will have to kick you out from their group. All other Spirits already have their hosts so its extremely hard to find one nowadays."
Scarlet hesitated and looked at Wuxing for advice and saw him nod, "I think you should accept her offer. I think we would eventually find a Spirit for you in some way by killing someone else but this way we will have the problem solved."
"Okay, then…" Scarlet finally agreed. "What do I have to do?"
She didn't really understand the whole concept but if Wuxing wanted her to do it then she would.
"Just say out loud, 'I, Scarlet, sign the contract' and place your right palm on top of mine."
Scarlet gazed at Wuxing for the last time and took a deep breath before finishing the contract.
"I, Scarlet, sign the Contract."
Ah!
Immediately after, the top of her hand began to burn immensely, causing her pain. She tried to retract it yet Lady Elizabeth grasped her wrist, forcing her to bear the pain.
"Big bro…" She tried to call for help yet Wuxing was just staring blankly at her as if his mind was shut down.
Something wasn't right!
The pain eased right after Lady Elizabeth released her but Scarlet was already suspicious.
"What did you do to big bro?!" Scarlet shouted worriedly, disregarding her own safety. Wuxing was not responding at all as if under some type of charm.
Lady Elizabeth only smiled playfully and snapped with her fingers.

Wuxing completely disappeared.
"I'm sorry sweetie but this Wuxing wasn't real. I created him based on your imagination. He seems to be really important to you so I used him to sign the contract with you. Hope you don't mind. I didn't have much time to patiently convince you," Lady Elizabeth explained casually.
"You tricked me!" Scarlet called out, quickly distancing herself from the lady. She was ready to defend herself but Lady Elizabeth didn't chase after her, only giggling to herself.
"Haha, you can say that I tricked you but if you look at it from a different perspective, I'm actually helping you. Do you really think you have a chance with Devil Face's Host while there are so many beauties around him? Without me, you would be practically worthless to them. Once the Event starts, you would be useless and soon dropped. Do you want that?"
Scarlet turned silent.
Of course, she didn't want it. Who would?
"I checked your memories. There is no way you can improve in five months and reach their level. They were training for years yet you just started," Lady Elizabeth added. "I can help you. With me, you can have immediately stood on their level. With power, you can also claim any man you want."
"Anyway, it's not like you have a choice anymore."

Lady Elizabeth snapped her fingers once again and darkness engulfed Scarlet. A second later, she realized she was back in the bedroom, hugging onto Dongmei.
She opened her eyes and sat up while trying not to wake anyone up. If not for the lingering pain on her hand, she would think it was just a nightmare.
'What do I do now…?' Scarlet thought anxiously.
Wake up Wuxing? Look for his help?
Scarlet didn't want to panic yet she was scared she did something bad.
'I told you not to worry. You are my host now. I will take care of you,' Lady Elizabeth assured her but Scarlet shuddered at her sudden appearance.
She shut her mouth to stop an incoming scream.
'Why me…?' Scarlet asked in her mind cautiously, not really knowing if the Spirit will hear her and surprisingly, she did.
'No particular reason. I just wanted to join Devil Face's team and you were available,' Lady Elizabeth answered casually. 'You should get to sleep now. I will talk to you when you wake up.'
Scarlet didn't know what to think about it. Some Spirit was talking in her mind without her permission, reading her memories and thoughts. Will she never have her privacy again?
Thinking about it, she walked out of the bedroom, feeling dry in her throat. She drank some water but it didn't help at all, only intensifying the thirst. She had no choice but to return to bed but just as she crossed the door, she felt weak.
Her head began to spin and her eyes darkened. She saw nothing but a blur.
Scarlet staggered to the bed, getting inside of it right before her mind went blank and darkness engulfed her again.
