Wuxing tasted a metallic substance from Scarlet's lips but that only distracted him for a short second. It wasn't the main problem after all. She was kissing him! That was the issue!
His arms were tightly locked on Scarlet's back but he quickly moved, tangling his fingers into her hair to pull her away.
"Scarlet," Wuxing called her name, not really knowing how to scold her anymore. The whole situation was too complicated.
Their lips were grazing from time to time as both pressured in different directions. Scarlet didn't seem like she was satisfied at all. She leaned down once again, biting on his top as if it was the juiciest fruit she has ever eaten.
Wuxing pushed her away with his forehead, yet her hands held him down, putting everything on the line.
He was about to flip her over to regain control yet she suddenly sat up, gazing at him from above. Her eyes were back at their natural sky-blue color but she looked angry. For the first time, Wuxing saw her angry other than her usual pouting.
"I'm always the one holding back while others get what they want. Why? Why do you treat me differently? Why?" Scarlet questioned repeatedly, hitting Wuxing's chest.
"Is it because I'm too precious? Too innocent? Too cute?" she asked more, gripping into his shirt so hard it stretched around his shoulders. "Do you want me to be tough like the rest of the girls? Do you want me to force myself on you so you can finally understand how much I care for you?"
"Scarlet, why are you like this all of a sudden? This is not you," Wuxing commented as he sat up, catching her arms. "You said your Spirit awakened? Are you talking with her?"
He couldn't think of a different reason aside from Lady Elizabeth influencing her mind.
Scarlet completely ignored his second question though.
"Then who am I? What do you take me for? Am I your little sister or just a friend? Why can Anna have you while I can't?" Scarlet called out, her lips shivering.
Even if she was pushed by her Spirit, whatever he would say, Scarlet would still end up hurt.
'If I were you, I would just bang her too. She is clearly asking for it,' Devil Face advised out of nowhere, making the situation even worse.
Wuxing ignored him and held Scarlet's face, trying to cheer her up.
"Scarlet, you know I care for you. Even if blood doesn't connect us, I'm still treating you like my family," Wuxing spoke gently, rubbing on her cheeks. "You know what is Anna's situation. I can't just ignore it and not help her, right?"
"Do you really think it will end after you finish helping Anna? She likes you. All those sessions will continue afterward too as you will get used to it. I love Anna but it's not fair," Scarlet exposed, making him realize it might be true.
"Then I shouldn't help her at all? Is that what you want?" Wuxing questioned but this only made Scarlet even angrier.
"No! That's not what I meant!" She shouted while pushing him away. He fell back on the bed when she pinned his shoulders, gripping them strongly.
"You have to help her. That's not an issue at all. But I also want you to help me as well," Scarlet called out.
Wuxing already felt that something had to be wrong. "Help you? Are you talking about blood?"
Scarlet unexpectedly nodded, falling down onto his chest which she swiftly hugged.
"You always need a reason that will justify your actions. You won't betray Dongmei unless it's for the greater good but don't you think happy that we all love you? Wouldn't it be great if all of us were together, like a happy family?" Scarlet questioned quietly.
Wuxing didn't need time to answer her.
"I love Dongmei. I want to give her the very best. Anna is a special case but anything else she finds uncomfortable, I will stop."
"You love Dongmei but don't you love everyone else as well? Are you sure it's a different type of love?" Scarlet questioned softly as if begging him to realize the truth. "You don't want us to leave your side. You want us to be happy. You admire us for the individuals we are, and you feel motivated to be a better person so you can support us. Isn't that true?
I thought that's what love is."
Wuxing froze, finding it hard to comprehend. Everything Scarlet said was true but something felt off.
"If you are in love, you are driven to be compassionate, generous, and caring to your special someone. Doesn't that mean you love us?" Scarlet added, trying to convince him.
"Scarlet, you are mixing two types of love. I indeed love you but with a friend or family love. I indeed want the best for you but—" Wuxing answered calmly only to be cut off.
"There are no two types of love. There is only one. The only difference is the stereotype that you can only have sex with your partner. If your partner agrees then why are you still hesitant? Isn't sex just a tool to show how much you love a person? Why don't you want to show that you love us?"
Scarlet reasoning was like thunder from the heavens, striking to wake him up. It was true that Dongmei didn't seem to mind it but that was a special circumstance for Anna's case. He couldn't imagine satisfying all five of them at the same time.
He didn't think too much of sex before, but now, after being with Dongmei for a while, he considered it a sacred ritual reserved only for them, serving as the tool to show how much he loved her.
'Wait…' Wuxing realized something.
Before he could contemplate it, Scarlet spoke first, "I'm not forcing you into anything but since you need a reason, I will give you one. Because I connected with Lady Elizabeth, she requires me to consume a little bit of blood every day. If I don't, I will feel weak like earlier. The only problem is, whenever I do, my body is in heat. I tried to hold it back today but my body hurts when I do.
I really cannot hold it back anymore…"
She leaned to his face and kisses his lips gently, asking with shivering eyes.
"Will you show how much you care for me and help me?"
