Chaos Point System: I Summon the Supreme Sword Demon Chapter 20

Chapter 20: I’m the first and last candidate who would surpass his challenge

The Nameless God chuckled as he looked at Alaric’s dumbfounded face. Then God began to explain.

"Reincarnators are saviors that the pathetic, collapsing world has pulled, hoping they’d save it from destruction. So, it’s simple—each of them gets the best body... but for some reason."

The Nameless God smiled quietly.

"I don’t see that in you, in this half-dead slave body... but I like it. First time I’ve actually liked a reincarnator like you. Not like those irresponsible gods who hand out blessings just because someone’s reincarnated."

...

Alaric hesitated a little, then asked,

"So... why are they my enemies?"

The Nameless God chuckled for a moment and answered coldly,

"Because they feel threatened by you. Because you can kill them with your blessings...like the way other Gods fear me.’’

The Nameless God continued,

"All people who pass our challenges are almost reincarnators. Of course, except me, I hate those weak ones. My challenge is just for the worthy one...But this century, there’s a girl who’s really interesting. She pulled it off without being one of them. No surprise that Weak Light is furious about it."

He glanced at Alaric and smiled.

"You and she share a strange destiny."

Alaric tried to understand what God said, but suddenly a sound rang out.

Ting!

The Nameless God flicked his finger. Immediately, Alaric’s ragged clothes shifted into a new outfit, with the words "I’m a Winner" stitched across the front of the shirt.

Alaric stared at his shirt in confusion, then looked up.

"Farewell."

Just like that, without explanation, Alaric’s vision blurred and disoriented. He fell, then managed to get back up, stumbling forward aimlessly.

"Sir, Y-You can’t just let me leave normally?"

He tripped over a corpse and fell again. Finally, his vision cleared, and he could hear noises nearby.

"The candidates of the Nameless God have returned!" a professor shouted loudly.

"Let’s check them. Look for the children of the legendary clans. If they ran into any trouble, it’s gonna be a big problem."

...

"Damn it... most of them are dead. Looks like what the principal said."

...

"This is terrible! I saw Curry. He’s dead... lost half his body. What the hell happened in the challenge?"

"Same here. Morris is dead too. Judging by the wounds on his neck, someone strangled him."

...

"We need to inform the Principal. This trouble is beyond professors like us."

"The Principal and vice Principal are coming here!"

...

"The candidates from other gates have returned as well," another professor shouted happily.

"T-There’s a candidate of the Nameless God still alive!"

"R-Really? Prepare potions for him. Anyone who survives the Nameless God’s challenge is surely heavily wounded."

...

"I guess we don’t need that... He still looks fine. Moreover... who is he? I’ve never seen him before."

"Huh... what’s with that weird shirt he’s wearing?"

Alaric shook his head to get his sight back. Then he slowly looked around.

"...I’m back?"

After a few seconds assessing everything, he was sure he had returned to the arena where he first stepped through the Nameless God’s gate.

He glanced around, only to see a pile of corpses. It seemed all the failed candidates had also returned to the real world.

Feeling a chill crawl up his spine as some hostility and curiosity gazed at him, Alaric turned toward that direction.

Yeah, all the professors were here.

"Who are you? Show your identity," a professor—Clayton—asked with an impolite tone.

Alaric blinked when he saw the muscular professor. He answered,

"Uh... Ah. My name is Alaric."

"So, what kinda shirt are you wearing? Are you the winner of the challenge?"

Alaric shrugged his shoulders.

"Honestly, I’m wondering why too. Guess God has a sense of humor?"

"Stop talking nonsense! What did you do in the challenge? What the fuck did you pull to pass it?"

The muscular professor shouted and reached out, intending to grab Alaric’s neck, but the handsome professor, Brian, stopped him.

"Stop being reckless. He’s the child of the Nameless God. Whatever he did and whatever his identity is, he now has high status and individual value to the world."

Nearby, the Vice Principal smiled and approached Alaric. The professors also bowed to show their politeness.

"Obviously, he is the child of the Nameless God. The first child to surpass the challenge—something no one has ever done before."

"Might we see your new summon? It’ll be proof no one can refute."

Alaric glanced at the old man ahead for a moment. He frowned, as if trying to remember that old face he had met before.

"Ah, it’s you." He blurted out in astonishment and quickly ran over, bowing his head.

"I’m sincerely grateful for saving me before."

The Vice Principal rubbed his chin and smiled, unable to hide the astonishment on his wrinkled face.

"Oh, that’s you. Congratulations!’’

The he added a even tone with professors.

’’The interrogation is unnecessary anymore."

Brian, standing nearby, asked. Clayton had the same reaction.

"Sir, do you know that boy?"

The Vice Principal just nodded without explaining. Revealing Alaric’s true identity would be a huge matter. It was hard to believe a slave had passed the gods’ hardest challenge.

But now. Alaric had changed significantly—still thin, but healthier than ever, completely different from the weak, pale slave he used to be.

No one could recognize him now.

It was better to erase Alaric’s low identity.

"His identity is secret."

"Now, let’s gather the corpses and check the other successful candidates."

Brian nodded and quickly walked away. Clayton gritted his teeth with a tinge of discomfort, but left as well.

The Vice Principal turned his attention back to Alaric.

He asked, his voice carrying a bit of curiosity.

"So, what happened in the challenge? If you don’t want to say, it’s fine... but if you do, I’ll give you a reward."

Alaric smiled. He understood the old man wanted to maintain their relationship. Surely, he could’ve forced the truth out of him, but he didn’t—because that would crack the already good relationship between them.

However, if Alaric refused to answer after everything the Vice Principal had done, their relationship would drop a level. Maybe next time, he wouldn’t receive any help from him.

One-sided relationships didn’t last long.

Still, Alaric didn’t want to spill everything like an idiot. He continued to say the truth but what he wanted to show, the rest of details of him killing Butler or Morris, he merely hidden on purpose.

And, he had one thing more exciting than all.

’’I do have something more important... I met the Nameless God."

The Vice Principal’s expression shifted from excitement to serious when he heard "Nameless God,"

’’He said I’m the first and last candidate who would surpass his challenge."

"I think the Gate of the Nameless God won’t appear again in the future."
