The car drove all the way into the villa district in the city center.
One by one, detached two-story villas came into view, surrounded by green mountains and trees, offering a pleasant scenery and fresh air.

“The two at the very end, those are ours,” Gu’s mother extended her hand to point them out.
Mengmeng craned her neck and noticed that the two villas were joined together, which meant that although they had moved houses, they were still neighbors just like before!

“I’ll send you to your grandparents’ place in the countryside, it’s scorching hot anyway, you can go there to cool off. Your dad and I will just stay at our place of work,” Mengmeng’s mom decided outright.
“What about my husband?” Mengmeng then asked.
Mengmeng was more concerned about where Gu Zhihan would stay than about herself.
“Can he come with me to grandma and grandpa’s place?” Mengmeng looked at Gu’s mom somewhat pleadingly.
“Of course, he can!” Gu’s mom didn’t hesitate for a second before agreeing, her demeanor so indulgent toward her daughter-in-law, it seemed as if even if Mengmeng asked Gu Zhihan to eat dirt, she wouldn’t have any complaints.
“That’s wonderful!” Mengmeng was immediately overjoyed, hopping and skipping around Gu Zhihan like a happy little sparrow.
