Chapter 138: Chapter 138: Mengmeng Got Scared and Ran a Fever
“Grandpa Luo, Grandma Luo, sorry to disturb you,” Gu Zhihan said, his handsome face regaining its composure while a hint of apology appeared on it. He then added, “Mengmeng has a fever.”
“What?” Grandpa Luo and Grandma Luo turned their heads in unison upon hearing this, glaring angrily at the younger uncle, “Did you keep her up at night, scaring her into getting a fever?”
“Oh, come on! I’m not taking the blame for this!” The younger uncle was almost spitting blood upon hearing this, almost kneeling before his parents’ bizarre thought process.
“Mengmeng’s fever must be because she fell into the river and got chilled during the day, how could it be because of me scaring her?” the younger uncle quickly explained.
However, Grandpa Luo and Grandma Luo said in unison, “That’s still your fault. If you hadn’t taken Mengmeng to the riverbank, would she have fallen into the river and gotten a fever?”
“Alright, alright, it’s all my fault, are you happy now…” the younger uncle had given up struggling and, feeling helpless, shrugged his shoulders then pointed at Luo Mengmeng, whose little face was flushed with fever, “Let’s not blame me anymore, we should hurry and take Mengmeng to the hospital. Look at her, her face is as red as a monkey’s butt.”
Upon hearing “hospital,” Mengmeng didn’t even mind her face being compared to a monkey’s butt, instead, she clutched her little blanket tightly, looking alarmed, “No, I don’t want to go!”
“How high is the fever?” Grandma Luo asked, moving forward to feel Mengmeng’s head.
Gu Zhihan said, “38.2 degrees.”
“That’s not too high a fever; she might not need to go to the hospital. Just cover her up when she sleeps, she’ll sweat it out and feel better,” Grandma Luo said while searching for a blanket in a nearby cabinet.
Upon hearing they wouldn’t go to the hospital, Mengmeng immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing her look of having survived a great disaster, Gu Zhihan couldn’t help but smirk, teasing her, “Mengmeng, you’re really a scaredy-cat.”
“Tease me all you want,” Mengmeng puffed up her pale, chubby cheeks, pursing her lips higher than a soy sauce bottle.
As long as she doesn’t have to get an injection, she could handle a couple more spits from him without getting angry.
