“I really don’t think there’s anything unsuitable!” Luo Mengmeng was too naive; she utterly failed to understand her father’s hints, instead finding him a bit of a nag.
After speaking, Mengmeng prepared to make a run for it.
“Mengmeng!” Luo Dad quickly blocked the door and continued, “If the neighbors see you going to a boy’s house to sleep every night, they’ll talk behind your back and say some pretty nasty things.”
“I don’t mind,” Mengmeng said, shaking her head indifferently.
“Alright, even if you don’t mind, Gu Zhihan’s reputation will suffer too. Do you want people to gossip about him as well?” Luo Dad, seeing that his daughter was impervious to both soft and hard tactics, felt compelled to pull out his trump card.
“That…” Sure enough, as soon as Mengmeng heard that Gu Zhihan could be the subject of gossip, she immediately hesitated.
She didn’t care about herself, but she couldn’t disregard his feelings.

“Don’t worry, Dad. Going to my husband’s house, it’s only my husband who will think I am the dangerous one!” Mengmeng looked somewhat awkwardly at her father.

“Okay, Dad, I won’t talk anymore, I need to go.” Mengmeng saw that it was getting late. She quickly squeezed past him, clutching her teddy bear as she ran to Gu Zhihan’s house.
Once in his bedroom, Mengmeng saw Gu Zhihan studying at his desk.
Under the warm yellow light, he looked concentrated and serious as he read, the light casting a gentle glow on his handsome, jade-like cheeks. His skin was so flawless that not even a single pore was visible, only fine soft hairs.
The moment Mengmeng entered, she bounded over to him like a rabbit.
Disturbed, Gu Zhihan furrowed his attractive brows and turned to glance at her, “Can’t you be a little quieter?”
Every time she was this reckless, she always managed to startle him.
Mengmeng quickly stuck out her tongue at him, “Next time I’ll be quieter… no, wait, there won’t be a next time…”
As she spoke, her voice suddenly turned glum.
Gu Zhihan narrowed his eyes, somewhat puzzled by her words.
“I mean I can’t sleep with you anymore. My dad said we’ve grown up and it’s not appropriate for us to sleep together anymore. The neighbors might talk too, and I don’t want you to be the subject of gossip, so I agreed,” Mengmeng said, her clear eyes welling up with reluctance as she gazed intently at his handsome face.
Gu Zhihan nodded slightly, “Yeah, your dad’s right. It’s indeed inappropriate for us to sleep together anymore.”
Although Gu Zhihan seemed indifferent and even appeared to agree on the surface, he was silently scoffing to himself inside.
Do not think he couldn’t see that Luo Dad was just being overprotective, worried that he might take advantage of his daughter.
