Chapter 314: Chapter 314: Enemies on a Narrow Road
“Don’t worry, I remember,” Gu Zhihan thought she was going to say something important, only to find out it was just this. He immediately smiled and ruffled her hair.
Unexpectedly, this girl, who usually seemed carefree and rough around the edges, was actually so prone to jealousy.
“As long as you remember!” Luo Mengmeng haughtily huffed, then swatted his big hand away, “How many times have I told you not to mess up my hair? You tangle it up every time, and I have to redo it when I get to the classroom!”
The little girl glared at him with her clear black-and-white eyes, then ran towards the classroom with her backpack, “I’m heading off first!”
“Run slowly,” he called out.
After she entered the classroom, Gu Zhihan started walking upstairs.
He didn’t go straight to the classroom but took a detour to the homeroom teacher’s office instead.
The homeroom teacher happened to be there, and as soon as Gu Zhihan spoke about wanting to change seats, she agreed without question.
Then, Gu Zhihan proceeded to his new seat and sat down by himself.
When Xu Wenting arrived, she was taking off her backpack and sitting down when she looked puzzledly at Gu Zhihan seated elsewhere, “Class leader, isn’t your seat here?”
“Changed seats,” Gu Zhihan said indifferently. After uttering those four words, he didn’t look at her again.
Xu Wenting’s fingers immediately tightened; her beautiful eyes flashed with a hint of dimness and a spark of doubt.
Why did he suddenly change seats? Weren’t they sitting together just fine yesterday?
Could it be… because of her?
Xu Wenting’s thoughts quickly turned to Luo Mengmeng, and she immediately guessed that it must be Luo Mengmeng who forced Gu Zhihan to switch seats. Otherwise, why would he suddenly move without any apparent reason?
Xu Wenting now felt even more that Luo Mengmeng, a girl prone to jealousy, didn’t deserve Gu Zhihan.
It was oddly coincidental, like enemies on a narrow road; when it was time to divide the dorms during military training camp, Xu Wenting and Mengmeng, along with eight other girls, ended up in the same dormitory.
When Mengmeng and Tong Mo walked in, Xu Wenting was arranging her bed. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed someone entering and quickly looked up at the newcomers.
Then her gaze stayed on Luo Mengmeng’s face, barely concealing her disdain, as if she viewed Luo Meng as an ugly duckling while she saw herself as the graceful swan.
Tong Mo couldn’t help but tug at Luo Mengmeng’s arm, gesturing for her to look at Xu Wenting, “Do you know that girl? She seems to be staring at you!”
And that look didn’t seem too friendly…
“Who?” Luo Mengmeng was stunned for a moment before following the direction Tong Mo was gesturing towards, and soon saw Xu Wenting giving her a friendly smile.
“Oh, it’s her,” Luo Mengmeng murmured softly.
Tong Mo couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows, “Your friend?”
She had no idea Mengmeng had such a friend.
Luo Meng shook her head, “Not really a friend–more like an acquaintance. She was Gu Zhihan’s desk mate yesterday.”
“Ah? Gu Zhihan’s desk mate from yesterday? And what about today?” Tong Mo felt there was something odd about the whole situation.
Luo Mengmeng spread her hands, “Not anymore, the teacher has already agreed to let Gu Zhihan change his seat.”
“You made him do it, didn’t you!” Tong Mo immediately guessed and teasingly nudged her shoulders while chuckling, “Tsk tsk! I never expected you to be so possessive.”
Luo Mengmeng puffed her cheeks and earnestly said, “Tong Mo, if you had a man you liked, you would understand this unsettling feeling!”
