"Gu Zhihan, I’m done for!" The little girl ran into the room, shouting as she went.
"You don’t seem to have any ’eggs.’" Gu Zhihan, who was sitting on the sofa reading a book, immediately looked up and reminded her.
"Hey! Can’t you be serious for once?" Luo Mengmeng had no time to bicker with him with a matter of life or death on her hands, glaring at him with grievance, "I’ve got something really important to tell you right now!"
Gu Zhihan couldn’t help but raise his eyebrow, all ears, "Go on."
"My parents are still working out of town and absolutely can’t make it back for my parent-teacher meeting tomorrow afternoon." Luo Mengmeng pouted her small lips, sat next to him, and told him in one breath.
"Is that all? You’re panicking over this?" Gu Zhihan had thought something major had happened to scare her . After shaking his head in disbelief, he said directly, "If your parents can’t make it for your parent-teacher meeting, just have my parents step in to help, right?"
"Eh... Can we really do that?" Luo Mengmeng blinked her eyes, asking in return.
"Why not?" Gu Zhihan asked back, draping his arm over the girl’s shoulder, his thin lips moving close to her ear as he added, "They are your future mother-in-law and father-in-law, as good as your own parents. Why can’t they attend your parent-teacher meeting?"
"That does make sense!"
Luo Mengmeng nodded her head.
So, on the day of the parent-teacher meeting, Master Extinction looked at Mrs. Gu and Mr. Gu with a confused face, asking, "Excuse me, which of you is the parent of whom?"
She noticed that the names of the parents for Gu Zhihan and Luo Mengmeng on the list were the same.
The couple responded in unison to his question.
Master Extinction’s face was full of question marks as he pointed at Gu Zhihan and Luo Mengmeng, asking suspiciously, "So, does that mean these two are siblings?"
But how could she remember that both their files indicated they were only children? How had they suddenly got the same parents and become siblings?
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Gu hurriedly explained, "It’s not like that. They are not siblings."
"But aren’t they both your children?" Master Extinction was spun around for the first time, misunderstanding as she stared at Mrs. Gu, completely confused by her meaning.
Mrs. Gu decided to be straightforward, "Luo Mengmeng is my daughter-in-law, and Gu Zhihan is my son."

In the end, Master Extinction was defeated, waved her hand, and had no strength to argue anymore.
