The operating room lit up with the “In Surgery” red light.
Mengmeng had her shirt removed by the nurse, changed into a green disposable surgical gown, and was finally pushed into the operating room.
Gu Zhihan, dressed in a sterile suit, closely followed.
When the anesthesia was administered, Mengmeng tightly grasped Gu Zhihan’s hand, incredulous fear appearing in her eyes.

Mengmeng’s heart burst with joy. However, before she could bask in the happiness for long, she lost consciousness and fell into a deep sleep, but her left hand was still tightly holding onto Gu Zhihan as if afraid he might run away midway.
Gu Zhihan thought silently in his heart.
“Cheeky boy, you can still back out now if you regret it. Otherwise, you won’t be able to go in and out of the operating room later,” Dean Gu’s voice came from behind the thick disinfectant mask.
Gu Zhihan shook his head, “No regrets.”
“Suit yourself.” Dean Gu shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly and then turned to the assisting doctors and nurses, “Begin the surgery.”
