Chronicles of Forgotten Extra Chapter 1

The only light in the room came from the computer screen. Its glow shone over the trash-filled room.

The air was heavy with silence, only disturbed by the soft clicking sound of the keyboard.

A fat man was sitting in front of the computer screen typing something like a maniac.

The fat man, Damien, sat hunched on his chair.

His body barely shifted as his fingers traced across the keyboard keys.

His facial features were not visible clearly except his bloodshot eyes, which focused on the computer screen with the intensity of a psychopath.

He didn't even blink.

The real world had become irrelevant to him long ago.

He was so lost in his fictional world that he failed to notice a dark-robed figure standing behind him holding a knife.

Their face wasn't visible due to a dark robe covering it.

The figure looked at Damien intently with a sense of longing…as if they cared for him, but the knife in their hands suggested something else.

Damien was still oblivious to the longing gaze of the figure.

Damien smashed his keyboard.

"F*ck you, Author…What kind of ending is this…" He cursed loudly, his voice filled with fury."I'm going to find you and beat you to death, you f*cker…"

He grinned like a maniac.

The robed figure was startled as they attacked Damien with a knife.

The knife moved swiftly.

Damien felt something as he tried to move…

But he wasn't fast enough.

The knife pierced straight through his back as it reached his heart.

An intense amount of pain courses through his body.

His strength was already fading.

He couldn't think straight due to all the pain, but he barely managed to mutter a single word.

"Who…who—?" The words were raw with emotions.

But no answer came from the robed figure.

They say that in the final moments, a person's life flashes before their eyes briefly.

It was true for Damien as well.

He had long since lost sensation within his body; only his mind worked, showing him the memories….

But for him it was not the joyous memories that greeted him…it was regret.

He saw everything he had lost…how he had become a failure he was currently.

He saw a different time.

One who had a good life, a purpose.

The memories washed over him like waves of a tsunami.

He could remember her last moment.

The feeling of her delicate fingers wrapped around his hands, her trembling voice filled with pain.

"Damien, please… live a life free of regret. Please be happy… I will… I will always be with you…"

Her pained smile was clearer than it had ever been.

Why did her smile feel so vivid to him now?

He saw his parents next.

His mother's soft and gentle smile.

The smile she always gave him every time he felt lost…

His father's steady and reassuring gaze, as if saying everything is okay.

"Damien, we believe in you."

Their voices filled his mind.

He could feel the warmth in their voice, which he had failed to notice before.

'Why did I change so much?'

'I wasted… everything.'

His mind finally felt sluggish.

The edges of his vision darkened.

'I guess this is how I die.'

This was Damien's last thought, filled with regret, before the light in his eyes vanished as death finally embraced him…

His body lay lifeless in a puddle of blood.

The killer standing beside his body looked at him.

Their face was covered with a hood. They looked at Damien's body as if searching for something within.

The killer removed the hood covering their face to reveal the beautiful face.

She had a crazed smile plastered on her face.

She soon turned around, not finding what she was searching for.

Her face filled with longing.

"Hehe... Let's meet again, Damien." She said her voice was accompanied with a creepy laugh.

"We will definitely meet again, My love." She muttered her voice filled with twisted anticipation.

She raised the knife in her hand.

The knife was filled with viscous blood of Daminen.

Piercing straight through her own heart.

Her expression one of ecstasy rather than pain.

She fell to the ground.

Her gaze meeting with the lifeless eyes of Damien.

"We will.... definitely.."

Her sentence remained incomplete as her eyes lost their light.
