Alden was currently having his final breakfast in his mansion. Today was the day he was going to depart for the Academy.
It's been two days since the whole world announced his supreme ability awakening, and the days were not peaceful, to say the least... at least for the whole world.
Suddenly many dungeons had popped up after the world announcement. Although they were present before too, but not in this many numbers. Nearly a hundred of them had appeared in these two days, and it seemed their numbers were going to increase even more.
'The reaction of the Emperor and the five main families was calm... almost too calm.' Alden thought as he recalled the news he read on his ManaSync yesterday.
'They had only released a statement that everything was under control.' Alden smirked as he knew it was just a facade.
And true to Alden's doubt, the entire Imperial family, as well as the five main families, were currently in huge turmoil, turning the whole empire upside down to even get a single idea about who the supreme were…
That was not just the case for the Vallorian Empire, as every species and every kingdom were currently in an intense search to get any idea about what this Supreme and Celestial Throne was.
But here one of the Supremes was quietly munching on his breakfast as if the whole situation had nothing to do with him. He just stuffed food in his mouth carelessly, knowing he wouldn't be able to taste food made by Alice after today.
The Astralis Academy was situated on an island city called Astria, which was situated near the capital city of Valloria.
The academy only allowed students and academy staff on the island with some merchants for the convenience of students and nobody else. Hence he couldn't bring Alice with him.
Alice stood beside his chair with her usual passive face, her expression filled with concern.
'I don't know why, but every time I look at Alice, I remember my aunt from my previous life…' Alden thought as he looked at Alice's concerned face.
He recalled his aunt, who also used to make a similar face whenever he did something troublesome. Thinking about that time reminded him how he had refused to even meet her after he became a shut-in…
'Well, that was all in the past now…' Alden dismissed his thoughts. 'I won't repeat my mistakes in this life too.'
He got up and finished with his breakfast; he had two more hours before he would depart for the academy.
I wanted to say something to tell Alice about how I will miss her after he went to the Academy, but he was a thorough and through introvert who had difficulty showing his true emotions in front of others. But Alice was his only closest family in this cruel world…he didn't even consider his father his family… 'Why would I even consider him my family when he was that cold to me?'
Although his mother was alive, he didn't know where she was, so the only person closest to family was Alice.
'whenever I was beaten by Cedric, how Alice tended to my wounds... Whenever I felt helpless, she tried to help me in her own way... She couldn't smile well, but she tried to learn how to smile... just so she could comfort me..' Memories of all those times came stuck his mind like a wave ....so he mustered his courage to tell her how much he will miss her…
"Alice," he called as Alice looked at him.
"How can I help you, Young Master?" She answered quickly, just like usual…
"Alice, I'm going to miss your cooking in the Academy…" Alden said it was not quite what he was thinking, but it seemed even these would suffice as he looked at Alice's expression.
Her expression was a spectrum of different emotions as many emotions flashed through her face…before a warm smile fixed itself on her face.
"Thank you, Young Master." She replied with a warm smile, and this time the smile was not awkward at all... it was the warmest smile Alden had ever seen on Alice.
After the interaction with Alice, Alden quickly ran off to my room as he felt awkward….
'I always had this problem whenever I tried to express my true feelings. I always felt embarrassed. I don't know why…' he thought about it as he closed the door to his room. 'Perhaps because I don't like to expose my weak side to others...'
'Or am I tsundere or something?'
He quickly took out his ManaSync to distract himself to snap out of this embarrassment…
He scanned through news articles that had appeared. Tomorrow was finally the entrance test of Astralis Academy, so many articles were published about it. But the article about various theories of who the supreme were and what the Celestial Throne was overwhelmed other articles.
He skimmed through most of the articles, as all of them were utter bullshit. He only read about some articles regarding the Academy as soon as an article caught his eye…
[What will be the entrance test of Astralis Academy this year?]
The article was fairly simple, talking about past tests and speculation about what this year's entrance test would be.
But he already knew what the test was going to be… 'It's going to be a duel between randomly chosen opponents…' He smirked thinking about it.
'But what if something changes due to the whole butterfly effect…' He couldn't help but think about it as he recalled the world announcement.
He was sure he couldn't rely on his knowledge from the novel anymore, as many things had already changed… so he could only tread carefully as he had already messed up the plot before even meeting the main protagonist.
He browsed through a few articles, most of them being about who the rank 1 this year is going to be and who is the most beautiful female student this year.
Alden had even read those articles out of curiosity. According to most of the news, the Rank 1 is going to be Amyra Celestrian, the third princess of the empire but he knew otherwise as protagonist was going to be rank 1..
As for who the most beautiful female student this year is, the articles were divided into two different factions, one supporting Amyra as most beautiful and the other supporting Seles as more beautiful than Amyra.
Just as Alden was lost in his thoughts, a knock on his door disturbed him as a soft voice echoed….
"Young Master, it's time…" He heard Alice's voice from the other side…
He looked at the time as he got up from his bed and started walking towards the door to his room with only one thought in his mind…
'Let's see what the Academy holds for me…' his face adorned with a confident smirk as excitement was bubbling up within him.
