The black Bentley had been parked by the roadside near the airport for quite some time.

The man acted as though he hadn’t heard her.
"Are you waiting for Mr. Ye?" Ji Wei asked again.
The lean man remained unresponsive.
"Is Mo Qian safe right now? Can you tell me? I’m really worried..."
No matter what Ji Wei said, he refused to answer.
Ji Wei was frustrated. What kind of bodyguard was this? He might as well have been a block of wood!
Just as she was about to explode with anger, Ye Cheng opened the front passenger door and got into the car.
Ji Wei’s face lit up with joy, and she quickly said, "Mr. Ye, can we go find Mo Qian now?"
Ye Cheng cast a glance toward A Cheng, who immediately understood, got out of the car, closed the door, and walked over to a nearby streetlight. He pulled out a cigarette pack and lit one.
"Miss Ji, you shouldn’t have come," Ye Cheng said, his tone faint.
Ji Wei understood Ye Cheng’s meaning. She didn’t want to argue too much, so she replied seriously, "I see. In your eyes, maybe I’m just a burden for coming here, but this is my own choice. I’ll accept the consequences."
"You make it sound so easy." Ye Cheng let out a faint, cold smile and turned to stare at Ji Wei. "Do you realize how much of a burden your coming here puts on Old Mo? Mental strain can often be deadlier than physical injuries. He’s forced to divide his attention to ensure your safety."
Ji Wei dropped her gaze, twisting her fingers nervously. She bit her lip and, after a long pause, suddenly spoke up: "I know none of you approve of me being here, but I’m already here. I love him, so I came. Just like Zimei with you. Perhaps you men don’t fully understand how women feel in situations . When your man is out there in danger, no one can just sit still. Even if... even if something terrible were to happen, I don’t regret it."
As Ji Wei spoke, she raised her head and looked directly at Ye Cheng. Her eyes shone with a peculiar light, making her whole being seem to glow.
Ye Cheng froze for a moment, then suddenly curled his lips into a smile.
Turning back to face forward, he said slowly, "Very well. I respect your choice."
Before Ji Wei could finish her sentence, Ye Cheng cut her off: "However, what happens next might make Miss Ji change her mind."
Ji Wei blinked, not understanding what Ye Cheng meant. She was about to ask when she saw him suddenly extend a hand out of the car window and snap his fingers toward A Cheng.
A Cheng stubbed out his nearly finished cigarette and quickly walked back to the car.
Ji Wei watched Ye Cheng give the lean man a few instructions before unexpectedly stepping out of the car.
The two men spoke in Japanese, which Ji Wei couldn’t understand at all.
Watching Ye Cheng disappear into the distance, leaving her alone with a bodyguard as wooden as a statue, Ji Wei began to panic. She reached for the door handle, trying to get out, only to realize the door was locked. Suddenly, the Bentley started up and sped forward.
"Stop the car! Stop the car right now! I want to get out!"
"Hey! I said stop the car! Did you hear me? Stop the car now!"
"Are you deaf?! Why won’t you stop?! Where are you taking me?!"
No matter how hysterically Ji Wei shouted, A Cheng remained as deaf and mute as ever, keeping his eyes on the road and focusing solely on driving.
An unsettling feeling of unease grew stronger in Ji Wei’s heart.
