Ji Wei’s face suddenly turned bright red.
Xi Nanfeng, cheeks full as he ate, almost choked on his food.
Qin Sixue quickly passed him the milk, and Xi Nanfeng gulped it down, struggling to swallow before protesting with a sour face: "Old Mo, can’t you let people enjoy breakfast in peace?"

Xi Nanfeng suddenly asked, "Any news about Old Ye?"

"Then why are we still eating breakfast? Let’s go save him now!" Xi Nanfeng swallowed a bite of fried egg and jumped up in frustration.

Xi Nanfeng stammered and shook his head, "No."
"So are you planning to block bullets or just create chaos?"
Xi Nanfeng was rendered speechless, but unwillingly muttered, "You can’t say it like that. Our brother’s in danger—we’ve got to do something to help."
Mo Qian picked up a napkin and wiped the corner of his mouth with elegance. "I’ll head out in a while to check the situation."
"I’ll go with you," Xi Nanfeng said.
"Would you feel safe leaving two women to guard the house?" Mo Qian countered.

"Alright then, keep your phone on. If anything happens, call me right away." Xi Nanfeng sat back in his chair.
Mo Qian nodded slightly.
After finishing breakfast, Mo Qian went upstairs to pack lightly.
Ji Wei saw him to the door, holding his hand tightly, unwilling to let go. "Mo Qian, how about I go with you?"
Mo Qian raised his hand and gently tousled her hair. "Old Xi doesn’t understand a woman’s heart. If you stay, Miss Qin will feel much more at ease. Don’t worry, I’ll contact you all immediately if anything happens. I’ll be back by noon at the latest."
Ji Wei silently nodded, still reluctant to let go.
"My people are already operating in the shadows. I’m going to meet up with them; that way, we’ll find Ye Cheng faster. Wait for me, okay?" Mo Qian reassured her patiently.
Ji Wei finally released his hand.
Mo Qian placed a kiss on her forehead and turned to leave.
Ji Wei kept her gaze fixed on his back, watching as he disappeared beyond the door, before reluctantly pulling her attention away.
Back in the dining room, Ji Wei saw Qin Sixue and Xi Nanfeng arguing over who should wash the dishes.
Xi Nanfeng, afraid Qin Sixue might break the dishes, refused to let her wash them.
But letting Xi Nanfeng do it didn’t seem very reliable either.
Ji Wei walked over, took the plates and bowls from their hands, and smiled softly. "Stop arguing—I’ll wash them myself."
Before the two of them could react, Ji Wei quickly stepped into the kitchen, and soon the sound of running water from the faucet echoed out.
Qin Sixue felt a bit guilty and followed to help out.
"Sister Wei, can I help you with anything?" she asked hesitantly.
Ji Wei knew her intentions were kind, so she didn’t refuse. "Of course you can. After I wash them, you can use a clean cloth to dry them, okay?"
Qin Sixue seemed delighted and immediately turned to find a dishcloth.
The two women chatted idly while washing dishes.
"Miss Qin, Second Young Master Xi should’ve told you this trip to Tokyo wasn’t for sightseeing. Aren’t you afraid of the danger involved in coming along?"
"Of course I’m afraid. But I’m even more afraid that if he’s in danger, I won’t be there by his side." Qin Sixue replied earnestly.
