Coin's Edge: Reincarnated as a Extra Chapter 37

The sound of light pats drifted through the room.

"Shut up... I want to sleep a little longer!" Hector grimaced, pushing away the petite hand, which managed to pat at his cheek, his eyes still closed.

It was really annoying, like a damn fly dancing on his cheek.

Suddenly, an unknown force struck his right hip, causing him to fall out of the soft, warm bed.

"Now I understand why you’re always late to class!" A calm yet slightly mischievous voice rang out in the room.

"Ugh..." Hector groaned as he slowly managed to get up, clutching his aching hip. Narrowing his eyelids, he asked,

’’You’re still here?"

Contrary to Hector’s initial thoughts, Violet hadn’t left the room yet. At this moment, she was wearing a white, silky nightie so thin that he could see almost everything beneath it. However, since she was still young, he didn’t feel particularly excited or aroused.

Still, this situation was barely acceptable. He needed to find a solution quickly. He banked on the fact that Violet hadn’t received any education about sex yet.

Tilting her head slightly in confusion, Violet responded in an irritated voice,

"Are you deaf? I already told you I’d stick with you yesterday!"

On top of that, she should also be trained in her way of speaking, which was extremely rude.

Hector let out a quiet, tired sigh, pressing the back of his neck to relieve the tension in his mind.

"I need to talk to Wade," he thought.

"Hey! Hey! Are you thinking about something dirty??" Violet puffed out her right cheek when she noticed Hector ignoring her.

That expression made her look really cute—anyone would have wanted to pinch her cheek except Hector.

"I never can play with a kid," Hector muttered, shaking his head and rolling his eyes as he headed toward the bathroom.

"Hey! I know exactly what you’re thinking! I’m not a kid! I’m almost 13 years old..."

"I’m a teenager! Damn, uncle!"

"They really seem like a couple, just as the rumors." A young man clicked his tongue, jealous.

"They’re so cute!" A young girl gazed at them with admiration.

It seemed like she also longed for a love like that.

But most people around them shared a different emotion—jealousy.

Hector was just a lowly nobody.

How could he possibly have Violet’s love?

Many men wanted to challenge Hector in a fight, just to prove that Lady Violet had made the wrong choice. But that was nearly impossible.

First, the Academy’s rules didn’t allow it.

And most importantly, Violet always defended Hector.

No one dared to approach them; messing with Hector meant picking a fight with Violet.

Only someone either incredibly foolish or possessing a status equal to hers could stand a chance against him.

They desperately wished for someone like that to appear.

Because every time they saw Hector’s clueless actions around Violet, their anger burned even hotter.

"Stop touching me!" Hector narrowed his eyes, trying to shake off the petite hand clinging tightly to his right arm.

But he couldn’t. Her grip was too strong. He let out a quiet sigh of discomfort while looking at everyone in the hallway.

"No! My book says we have to do this!"

"A good master must..."

Her voice trailed off as her expression grew increasingly flustered. She turned her head away, avoiding Hector’s gaze, but the redness of her ears betrayed her embarrassment.

"Huh? This is unbelievable. She’s actually embarrassed about using a book to treat me this way? But she barely reacts when she does the shameless things with me?"

Hector’s mouth dropped open in surprise. He shook his head helplessly and glanced elsewhere.

"We need to meet Wade right now!"

He tightened his grip on Violet’s hand and walked forward, but there were still a few things that he needed answers to.

"Who gave you that book?"

After a brief silence, Violet awkwardly answered.

Hector immediately stopped and glanced at Violet, his eyes narrowing in confusion.

No answer but silence.

Hector lightly pressed his fingers against his temples, frustration boiling inside him.

"Why the hell would Wade do this to me?"

He didn’t understand.

And he had never felt this uncomfortable before.

His head throbbed. His breath grew heavier.

Then, a loud, echoing sound shattered his concentration.

A voice filled with anger, menace, and a hint of madness rang out.

Hector slowly raised his head, locking eyes with a young man standing before him.

The young man remained silent, his expression certain.

He was a young man, standing at an incredible height of 2.5 meters—extremely tall for his age. However, he wasn’t exactly fat, though that wasn’t the most notable thing about him. His arms and chest were packed with layers of toned muscle.

"He looks like a Viking."

He exuded a disturbing aura, making people instinctively keep their distance.

"Jet Doyle!" A name escaped from his broken mouth after a few seconds of silence.

Hector slowly raised his eyes higher and higher to get a clearer look at the young man’s face.

"It’s you?... the abandoned prince!" Hector uttered, his worried gaze fixed on Jet.

His eyes seemed lifeless—yet filled with a manic, unstable energy.

"Uh... why are you doing this? And why should I agree to fight you?"

Hector shrugged and rolled his eyes, making it clear that he had no interest in the situation.

However, before he could receive an answer, a streak of light suddenly lunged toward him, sending a chill down his spine.

A massive, muscular fist suddenly stopped just inches from his face.

His heart felt like it was about to leap out of his chest.

Hector gulped, staring in shock at Jet’s fist—halted in mid-air by a delicate, petite hand.

Jet looked at Violet in disbelief, his gaze filled with jealousy and resentment as it flickered toward Hector.

"I already told you—I’ll protect you!"

In an instant, Violet vanished from beside Hector, leaving only a small gust of wind in her wake.

Hector could see everything unfold before his eyes, yet his body couldn’t react in time.

It all happened within half a second.

Violet flipped into the air, using Jet’s arm as a pivot, and with a swift motion, she spun around and delivered a forceful kick to Jet’s face, sending him flying backward.

Then, Violet landed lightly on the stone floor, turning her head toward Hector with a triumphant smile. One of her eyes glowed brightly, brimming with thick mana.

Hector chuckled, glancing at Jet rolling across the ground like a discarded ragdoll, not completely noticing a bit to Violet.

"You really are my best guard."
