Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO Chapter 285

So today, Skyler Jones successfully overshadowed Howard Geoffrey’s efforts with a single call from Christine Quinn, transferring all the credit to himself. Although in name, Geoffrey lost to Howard, he gained Becca’s gratitude and simultaneously stepped on Howard’s character.

Howard Geoffrey’s lips curled into a faint, idle smile, "What you want to see might be difficult because—since I can make her come to New York to find me, I can naturally make her want to stay in New York."

Skyler Jones sneered, "Even if you can make her stay now, you can’t make her stay willingly."

Howard Geoffrey’s lips still held a calm and composed smile, "You’re wrong. Not only will I make her stay, but I will also make her stay willingly."

Becca was struggling with how to get to the airport...

She had to hold Andrew, making it impossible to manage her luggage. It would be fine once at the airport since she could check it in, but for now, she couldn’t even get to the airport.

Thinking it over, Becca decided to leave her luggage at the security office of the apartment building, and after getting Andrew downstairs, she would hail a taxi and have the driver get the luggage for her, allowing her to head straight to the airport.

After coming up with the plan, and seeing that it was about time, Becca, while Andrew was asleep, dragged her luggage out of the apartment.

The two bodyguards outside the door were gone, indicating that Howard was allowing her to leave.

She couldn’t help feeling a bit unsettled, but Becca didn’t allow herself to dwell on it because, whether he cared for her or not, was no longer her main concern—what mattered most now was the peaceful and secure future for her and Andrew.

After placing her luggage in the security office, Becca returned to Howard’s apartment and picked Andrew up from the bed. Thᴇ link to the origɪn of this information rᴇsts ɪn N()velFire.net

Without further hesitation, Becca left the keys to Howard’s apartment, carried Andrew, closed the apartment door behind her, and departed.

On the roadside, Becca hailed a taxi...

The taxi driver was friendly and, seeing her holding a child, offered to help retrieve her suitcase from the building’s security office without charging extra.

Sitting in the taxi, Becca looked out at the gradually receding neon lights of the city, thinking about her imminent departure from New York, yet unable to convince herself to feel at peace.

Originally, she had intended to bid him farewell, but later thought about it and realized it was unnecessary, as she had already informed him earlier that day of her departure that night.

Distracted in thought, Becca failed to notice that the taxi wasn’t taking the route to the airport.

It wasn’t until the car had veered off course by about twenty minutes that Becca snapped back to reality, looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings, and asked the driver, "Excuse me, are we headed to XX Airport?"

The driver replied, "Yes."

Becca was puzzled, "But this road doesn’t seem like it’s going to the airport!"

The driver patiently explained, "I’m taking a shortcut; we’ll reach the airport quickly."

Though the driver was kind, Becca felt slightly uneasy; however, as the taxi had been summoned from a reputable company she called in New York, it was unlikely to be an unlicensed vehicle.

Maybe the driver was indeed taking a shortcut, as she wasn’t very familiar with New York, and another shortcut to the airport wasn’t completely impossible.

Despite trying to reassure herself, Becca remained somewhat scared, so she took out her phone and cautiously dialed 911.

After about an hour later, the taxi finally stopped.

The driver said, "Ma’am, we’ve arrived at the airport."

Becca, holding Andrew, got out of the taxi and, looking ahead, saw a vast airport. However, it was clearly not an ordinary airport but a private one. Becca couldn’t help but wonder, "Are you sure we didn’t come to the wrong place?"

The driver nodded, "I’m sure."

Looking at the airport, Becca felt a sense of déjà vu.

The driver then added, "Ma’am, let me assist you with your luggage. Let’s go!"

Becca, full of doubt, walked toward the airport.

With each step closer to the airport, the feeling of familiarity grew stronger for Becca, until she finally remembered the place upon stepping on the flat, wide concrete ground of the airport.

She remembered being here a year ago...

This was Howard’s private airport, and a year ago, she had come here with him to board his private jet back to the Flowery Kingdom.

Becca looked at the driver baffled, only to find that the driver had vanished without a trace, and when she anxiously glanced around, the lights of the private airport suddenly lit up.

The incandescent lights seemed to illuminate the entire world and highlighted the tall, graceful silhouette standing not far from her.

While the entire world was bathed in white light, Howard Geoffrey’s gaze meeting hers was so dark and bright, blazing with intent.

Unnoticed, he had arrived in front of her, his gentle eyes fixed on her slightly pale face from shock, and he whispered, "Did you plan to leave without even saying goodbye to me?"

At this moment, a bodyguard took Andrew gently from Becca’s arms.

Becca cried out, "No..."

Howard, timely taking hold of her body, spoke softly, "Don’t worry, I just want to have a private conversation with you. I’ll let them take Andrew onto the plane to sleep first."

Still unclear about the current situation, Becca looked at Howard in confusion, "I was heading to Alton, how could this..."

Howard bluntly revealed, "The driver who brought you here was obviously arranged by me beforehand."

Becca furrowed her brow, "Why did you do this?"

"Have you forgotten what I’ve said?"

Becca shook her head in bewilderment.

Howard sincerely gazed at Becca, his voice hoarse as he declared, "I said, I would never allow you to leave me again!"

Becca grasped her head, shaking it firmly, her voice raspy, "Stop saying such things, Howard, I don’t believe it, I don’t believe it..."

Howard gently lowered Becca’s hands, pulling her into his embrace, speaking with the pain of someone wounded, "Why do you never believe what I say?"

Becca struggled desperately in Howard’s arms, yet she could never break free.

Finally, Becca sobbed within Howard’s embrace, "How can I believe your words again... you’ve hurt me so much, trampling repeatedly on my feelings for you, you’ve never taken me seriously..."

Howard held her tightly, "If I didn’t take you seriously, why would I go to so much trouble to keep you by my side today?"
